  1. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any info about the individual drink prices on board the Carnival Splendor (preferably in Australian dollars) will be my first time sailing with Carnival and finding it really hard to find any info.

i know we can’t get alcohol packages when sailing out of Australia, so was wanting to know what the prices are.

    Thanks

  2. Only around 20 dancers from her studio are going, she will be the youngest one there.

But it was an opportunity I couldn't say no to. The cost freaked people out I think, so not many people signed up to go. But I've cruised before (on Explorer of the seas as well, when my daughter was 3) and it was a great package we got with big savings to do this, but was probably more than people expected who hevent cruised before

We start rehearsals in a few weeks, can't wait to see what they come up with

  3. My first cruise I booked with friends, I thought we were really close.

But after that cruise we rarely talk or see each other now.

We spent barely any time together, they seemed to want to just chill in their room and do nothing, and I actually wanted to make the most of the cruise and be out of my room and do things, even if it was just relaxing on the pool deck.

I still had a good time, but there was an incident where my friends partner was very rude to my then 3 year old at the time, she was being a typical kid, not doing any harm (opening the cabin door to listen to the captains announcement after she had seen me do it- also walking around their room looking at things, not touching) and he had a go at her and said some comments that made me really upset.

My next cruise is in November with my daughters dance studio, a few of my friends will be there, but I will not be counting on spending time with them or anything, to avoid any disappointment.

Also another mistake I made was, I applied sunscreen at isle of pines, all good, kept reapplying, but I didn't do the back of my neck cos I couldn't reach there. Well I didn't get burnt anywhere else but there, it was soooo painful and took 2 weeks to finally start peeling. My daughter was the one who would apply the cooling gel to the back of my neck for the rest of the cruise, if only I had thought to get her to apply the sunscreen there...

  4. When I cruised in 2016 (explorer of the seas) I prepaid my account in cash and i mostly spent it on souvenirs, movies in my state room(I had a 3 year old then who needed naps) Starbucks, johnny rockets, photos and towards the end of the cruise I still had a bunch of money left so I bought a really good camera on board (I had $900 US dollars for a 10 day cruise and struggled spending it)

  5. Hi. This November my daughter and I are sailing on board explorer of the seas. My 6 year old daughter and her dance studio have been given the opportunity to perform on board the ship twice in the theatre and doing a couple of workshops on board with the ships performers. It will be an amazing experience. I was just wondering if any one else has done this before- would love to get some insight and hear anyone else's experiences

  6. I recently took my 3 year old daughter on a ten day cruise to the South Pacific. It was just her and I, my partner/her dad didn't go.

She had a lot of fun, I signed her up for kids club but I didn't end up using it.

She enjoyed all the music and the atmosphere.

She is usually really shy but all the crew and guests made such a big fuss over her wherever we went, she was treated like a princess. She grew so much social confidence when we were away, would go up to people and start conversations. Her speech improved dramatically too.

Just be prepared for your child to get fairly tired a lot. My daughter does not usually have naps, but she would fall asleep anywhere and everywhere (once she even curled up under my deck chair and fell asleep lol)

She had her moments where she was naughty, and it was pretty stressful for me, but I think if I wasn't by myself with her, it wouldn't have been so bad.

The kids club is aged 3 and up, as long as they are toilet trained.

You sign your child up the first day, and they can go as little or as much as you want.

On sign up day my daughter didn't want to leave, so I'm sure the kids have lots of fun in kids club.

  7. Hey, in 2 weeks I am going on the explorer of the seas with a couple of friends.

And one of my friends is bringing their mum.

Now this is really random, but I was wondering if on board the explorer, are all the elevators glass? Like they show in the photos. Or are there other elevators available, like a typical elevator.

I only ask as my friends mother is unable to take the stairs, and has some fear about glass....

So I told her I would find out for her, as I've never been in a cruise ship before so I'm unsure.

    Any help,would be greatly appreciated

  8. I leave in a month (30 days) and yesterday I went through all my things I have bought for the cruise, tried on all the clothes to see if they fit and looked okay, cut all the tags off everything and got all the toiletries sorted into zip lock bags and put to the side, so when I do start packing I'll have everything all organised to go straight into the suitcases. Will prob pack about a week before we go

  9. In seven months she will be an old pro at the big potty thing. You will probably look back and think "Why was I worried about this?" :)

Haha, yes I feel a bit silly now, she is well and truly toilet trained now...

And I did use a foldable toilet seat in public for a while, but now I just hold her a little, it's much easier.

She is starting to be able to balance a little on her own, but only enough where I only need to hold her hand to stop her falling in lol

Trying to get her out of the habit of holding onto the seat, especially with all the lovely gastro bugs in cruise ships lol
