  1. A passenger on the Carnival Pride in November has a YouTube video and stated their procedure. If you had your passport scanned when checking in, it was then connected to your sail & sign card and therefore you did not have to show it getting off in Martinique. If you did not have a passport connected to your S&S card or you did not show a passport at the gangway then you were not allowed to get off the ship.

  2. Just got this email. I have never heard of such a situation. Leaving from New York. Anyone know what is happening?

    CARNIVAL SUNSHINE

    SEPTEMBER 9, 2017

    September 6, 2017

    Dear Guests,

We have an important update regarding our embarkation plans for Saturday. Due to adverse currents that would make earlier docking unsafe, Carnival Sunshine will be alongside in New York later than our scheduled time.

Since we will be busy saying good-bye to our guests on the previous cruise, we kindly ask that you add two hours to your pre-selected Arrival Appointment and plan to arrive at the terminal no earlier than the new time. Guests who arrive outside of their Arrival Appointment can expect longer wait times in line.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding. Most importantly, we can't wait to welcome you aboard!

    Sincerely,

  3. Just to clarify a point........ You can only use the points for $ credit according to the amount of your Carnival purchase. I just used 13,333 rewards points for a $200 credit on a previous Carnival purchase of $1700. As another poster has stated, you get a higher credit on a Carnival purchase over $1500. Last year I used 10,000 reward points to get $100 credit on a Carnival purchase of $245. You have 180 days to apply any credit to each Carnival purchase amount. You will see what options are available under "Manage Rewards". Note that rewards can also be used anytime to get gift cards, such as 3700 points for a $25 Lowes card. Also can buy onboard gifts or onboard credit.

  4. We were in Freeport Bahamas last year on the Pride. Bought a plastic toy knife, like a dagger, possibly 3 inch blade. When getting back on the ship, security at the ship X-ray confiscated that plastic toy knife. We were allowed to go to a certain lounge the last morning before disembarking and pick it up. Other people were in line then picking up items like irons and alcohol that had been found in their checked bags when first boarding.

  5. I have always carried on a 12 pack of Diet Coke. 15 plus cruises, last one Nov. 2013. No Problem, but They are now checking each can to make sure you did not hide a Beer can in the box. Cheaper than buying on ship! Put in fridge, but it only cools it, so get ice from buffet station or steward.
