Thank you for posting. We sail on the Equinox on Sunday and then on the Constellation on Jan. 24th. We bought N95 masks and are keeping our fingers crossed that our tests are negative tomorrow morning and our flight actually takes off. Hope we are able to continue reading about your "adventure" while we are onboard. Glad you are not feeling seriously ill and that your wife is negative. Hope you don't get too bored. Can you order bottles of wine? (If a person isn't suite class)?
Will they test you every few days?

We are taking next cruise on Equinox 1/9.
Flying from LAX on 1/8
see cancellations on roll call opting for future cruise in the Spring…I am on the fence .. so much to cancel hotels/Air/etc.
appreciate your advice ..
We are on this cruise too (Equinox 1/9). We are on the fence, but we also don't know if our flight will be canceled or not, given all the flight cancellations lately. Sure don't know what to do at this point. Don't want to cancel and spend the next few weeks looking outside at the snow covered land.

I'm really enjoying the photos you have posted showing your meals, Parkerson.
IF I am quarantined on the January 9th cruise, I will order the same delicious looking (and/or sounding) items.
.....Or, maybe these things will be available in the MDR and I can just skip the covid???
Time will tell.
You are certainly taking your quarantine in stride and with good humor. Kudos to you! It's never fun to feel sick. And, I'm sure it's no fun to have your movements restricted.
You have made the best of a bad situation.
Can't wait to see what you order for breakfast.
The best to you! Get well soon.
Triple masked and staying that way--- yours truly Jimmybean
We'll see you on the 9th, unless we chicken out.

We were on the Constellation with you, 1st cruise for the Constellation since the Covid shut down of cruises. You are right, when the Captain announced the one case during dinner, there was a Big Quiet that came across the whole room. We are scheduled to be on Equinox this Sunday, and then 3 days later back on the Constellation. We bought N95 masks, but are now wondering about cancelling or not. Still on the fence. Don't want to cancel.....

Do you know if the area to the corridor where the quarantine cabins are located is being manned by crew to keep others from entering that hallway?
Any word on the overall vibe of the ship as positive cases are being announced? Is it getting more somber or business as usual (perhaps more of a question for your wife since she can be out & about).
We were on Constellation in November. There was an announcement the last night of the cruise, during the dinner hour, about a positive case. It was a slap of reality that changed the energy in the room.

I just read the last 4 pages of this thread. Thanks for answering questions. We are scheduled to be on Equinox on Sunday. Wondering if it will still be a "go" or not, and also wondering if our fights will get us to Florida on Saturday or not. So many unknowns. Not sure what we should do at this point in time.

I am sure that you will get lots of answers but in the mean time just type in Celebrity in the search box for this forum - lots of info to go through while waiting for specifics.
But the short version is that most people have trouble going back to Celebrity after trying Oceania Unless you are a party animal. 🙂
I will do just that, Thank You! I have not been on cruise critic in a while now...where is the search box in this forum? Thanks! Haha......I would not call Celebrity a "party" cruise line. We are interested in how the two compare though.

We are READY to be pampered and go on vacation ---- but Waiting like everyone else in the world. Oceania sent a brochure and a number of the cruises sure looked intriguing.
We have only cruised on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. Could you all tell me what is better/worse/different between Celebrity and Oceania? I know, everyone has their own opinions....but we just want to figure out if we want to branch out and try a different cruise line. We would probably want to do the O'Life (especially if we cruise in the Med ---- for the flights -----since we are from the USA). Is there a Main dining room as well as the specialties? Do you need to make reservations each night? I see from briefly looking at this board that you can upgrade to premium beverage package for $20..00/day per person. That is on par with Celebrity. What are the average ages of the cruisers? How is the music and shows? We are finally retired (and of course.......all our trips/plans for this year have been cancelled).......so we are very anxious to start up our new retired lives when it is safe to do so. Stay Healthy everyone!
I will appreciate all of your opinions and suggestions. Thank You!

We too will need to rebook several cruises, as they are cancelled. Very disappointing, but hopeful "this too shall pass". Stay Healthy!

Oh yes, I am missing cruising terribly!! I retired a few months ago and had planned a whole set of b2b cruises to celebrate retiring and my very young 95 y.o. mother's birthday. We were to start off with a TA from Tampa on the Brilliance of the Seas, through the Azores, and 2 stops in Ireland ending at Amsterdam. Then we were to depart that same day, same ship on a Baltic cruise returning to Amsterdam, then 6 days there and in England and then the QM2 from Southampton to New York, a few days in NYC and then fly home. I was so excited especially as I do not know what the days ahead will be like with my mom's aging process vs. the possibility of being stranded somewhere. I do not foresee this COVID thing being fully resolved until after a vaccine is available which probably won't be until next year.

Ditto.....we are retiring in May. Planned a few days in Ireland, then a cruise out of Dublin. Then a week long adventure around Ireland....Then fly to Barcelona to catch Connie to Venice.....and a few days in Venice before heading home....Our dream retirement trip.......will have to be postponed. We Want to reschedule, but also want to wait until it is safe to travel. I think we will need to wait for a vaccine before we feel safe to be out of the country. We will be "first on board" when we can!! So, in the meantime, I will dream my dreams, stay home and stay safe, and continue getting my cruise fix by reading cruisecritic. It is nice to read the positive posts and the jokes and stories. Bummed out about our cruise out of Dublin -- it would have been our 1st time having All 4 perks and Plenty of OBC (so we bought a 4 night dining package and a couple tours).....That was a Great Deal! Keep Well!

Our cruise out of Dublin on May 8 was cancelled around 5 pm yesterday. Not surprised, but of course disappointed. Now, just Praying for the World to heal.

The Constellation was, I thought, to be revolutionised in late April/May 2020. We were supposed to be on her for the First revolutionised sailing on May 26, 2020. Still have that booked, doubt it will happen (Barcelona to Venice). Stay Well Everyone!

This has probably been answered before, but I can't seem to find it. Does Royal Caribbean have perks included if we were to ever book a suite? (Such as Celebrity has their 4 perks included: Deluxe Bev. Pkg, Grats, WiFi and OBC with their suites). Thanks!

We have been on Reflection 2 times, once in the Caribbean and once in the Mediterranean. I think people do tend to dress up a bit more in Europe. We will be on Reflection once again for a 10 Night, Ireland, England and Scotland cruise in May 2020 and I expect most people will dress nicely for dinner. I think it is fun to dress up a bit since I never do at home! I'm excited about our new adventures coming up "soon"!
My opinion, of course 🙂

We bring a pad of paper and a pen.....in case we need to write notes (cabin attendant, etc.). A small container of laundry detergent -- to wash items in the sink. a thin rope to string across room (use with strong magnetic hooks), to dry more items. We recently bought a circular "clothes hanger/dryer" -- that uses a magnet to connect to the ceiling -- it has clips and works very well. Also, some Tide To Go Pens -- for stains. I "don't leave home without them"! You will have a Wonderful Time! 🙂

I wrote a review of our recent cruise. Here is the link, if you are interested.

I LOVE the Anne books! We will definitely visit Green Gables when we are there next year! I'll need to borrow the book back from my mom :) Thanks for posting!

cruise wizard....We usually book well in advance, so we are just taking our chances on Vision next year for the Snowbird cruise. Hope we have good luck like you did (w/o all the rigmarole). For now, looking forward to 9 nights pre-winter relaxation on Grandeur (1st time on Grandeur).

I just checked cabin availability - the only categories were V's (Insides) and N's (Outsides) - mostly on decks 2, 3 and 4..............very few on decks 7 and 8. All of the suites and balconies are sold out.
That's O.K. Hope we at least get a porthole to the outside world! Thanks for checking!

We intend to book the Snowbird cruise for next year (when we are on Grandeur in 11 days). So we are Very interested in your reviews! On Vision -- see you next year cruise wizard! 🙂 !

We were able to get off the ship. Could only leave the port with a Celebrity shore excursion or a cab driver (there were several available). Could not walk around on your own.
