  1. My wife and I were on the Anthem (14 days) this past June/July.

We were in Cabin 6296 and yes, the Galley for the Cafe270 is right below this cabin. Every morning at 4:00am they would bring out all the pots and pans necessary to bake and prepare items. It all stopped at 6:00am usually. To make matters worst, there is a huge staff elevator bank across the hall. Loads of noise! The third day I checked in with guest services and they talked to the cooks and it did get a little better, but they still need to do their job. They sent us a bottle of wine, but did not offer to move us. Normally I would never book a cabin just above, or below a public area, but this was a last minute upgrade.

Sounds like many issues on deck 6? By the way, we had a wonderful cruise and the ship is spectacular.

    Kel:)

We are booked to sail in cabin 6296 in Oct and very concerned about the view and how badly it may be obstructed. Could you please advise and maybe even share pics? Thanks in advance. We greatly appreciate your help!

  2. Hi, does anyone have any experience with this cabin? RCCL Freedom of the Seas 8410?? On the website it says this room has a regular door (no slider) along with a port hole and limited ocean view.

    Thanks for any help :)

DH and I were on Liberty of the Seas in cabin 9704. That would be equal to your cabin in question. We were VERY disappointed!! In the past, stern balconies have been our favorite . . . however, this triangle shaped small balcony is not worth it. The door to get out onto the balcony is very heavy and makes it extremely hard for one person to handle a room service tray (really, carrying anything for that matter). We also prefer part sun and part shade. There was very little shade w/ this balcony and we spent very little time on it. We wish we had just gotten a balcony cabin on the side of the ship. The view via a sliding glass door would have been MUCH better and the balcony would have been a better configuration.

I tried to attached a couple of pics to this post, but it didn't work. Sorry.

Anyway . . .Hope this info helps! Happy cruising!

We are sooooo looking forward to our next cruise . . . Sapphire Princess May ’09 – 7 Alaska

Crown Princess Oct. ’08 – 7 Eastern Caribbean

Liberty of the Seas March ’08 – (9704 Stern balcony = big DISAPPOINTMENT) 7 Eastern Caribbean

Crown Princess Oct. ’07 – 7 New York to San Juan

Golden Princess April ’07 - 10 Mexican Riviera

Constellation Oct. ’06 – (8185 Stern balcony) 11 Western Caribbean

Brilliance of the Seas April ’06 (9258 Stern balcony) - 10 Panama Canal

Jewel of the Seas Oct. ’05 – 10 Bermuda and Caribbean

Dawn Princess March '05 – 10 Western Caribbean

Caribbean Princess '04 (C752 Stern balcony) – 7 Eastern Caribbean

    Island Princess '03 – 10 Panama Canal

    Star Princess '03 – 7 Mexican Riviera

    Grand Princess '02 - 7 Western Caribbean

Enchantment of the Seas '98 - 7 Eastern Caribbean

this is a limited view balcony. The balcony is worth the limited view IMHO as it is so much bigger then a side balcony. THe corners do have doors instead of sliders.

Thanks so much for this great picture!! It makes me think that 9704 will be OK . . .however, SWMichigan Cruiser mentioned the RCCL description. YIKES!! I'm nervous!!

Do you miss anything because you have a door instead of a slider? Is the balcony still a larger size? What about the "limited ocean view" for Staterooms 8410, 8710, 9404 & 9704 as stated on their web site?? This is what has me so concerned.

Would that mean that my balcony would only be about 1/2 the size, too? The huge balcony is what makes it ALL worth while!!

Thanks so much for ALL your help / expertise!!

  4. We have cruised many times in AFT Cabins and LOVE them, but we are concerned about the layout of this ship - - steel structure hendering our favorite view. Does anyone have experience on these ships? Any pics? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Currently we are looking at Liberty of the Seas 9704. Would that view be different than when we sailed Brilliance of the Seas (Cabin 9258) = loved this huge balcony and terrific view? Thanks for your help!!
