Hated it? No. We sailed 3 years ago on Dawn Princess, one of Princess' oldest ships, which lacked a few amenities, particularly for Suite pax and past cruisers (we sailed Princess in the 1990s, but have been on HAL for about the last 20 years, so have some status with Princess), so we weren't impressed. We know generally what Princess offers, and while Dawn has some nice features, it was also pretty outdated in several ways.

 

 

 

So were turned off Dawn Princess, but we would consider a desirable route on a newer Princess ship, in most cases.

We were on the last voyage of the Dawn Princess in May this year after only having been on Hal ships. It was a little run down and they did run out of some things but we enjoyed it and would sail with Princess again...especially if it was from our home port of Fremantle

Does Oceania offer shuttles in to town or is close enough to walk in Marseilles and Dubrovnik? Probably will do an excursion in Livorno. Just trying to decide which one. Thinking Cinque Terre? Has anyone been?

We were going to get a taxi to the old town of Dubrovnik from the port but decided on the bus. The stop is right outside the port and we were able to purchase the return tickets at the same time. Too easy and much cheaper. I hiked up Mt Srd and hubby went up on the cable car.

We also went on the bus down the coast to Cavtat and still had time to walk the walls of the Old Town.

In Livorno we had CC organised van to Florence via Pisa. If you want an alternative Cinque Terra would be great if you are unlikely to visit that area otherwise

Just walk around the end of the fjord along the road away from the railway towards Aurland

There is a path that goes beside the water for most of the way. There is a sign at the beginning uphill track that leads to the farm

There is a small map on Wikipedia
