  1. It did fail in the middle of the ocean.

     

    For this particular issue, I am guessing they may have shut down the one azipod. The other was still operational, so she was able to make her way home (skipping a port of call)

     

    No, it did not.

    Propulsion system was working fine and she could've maneuver in port

     

    She skipped the port of call for another reason, not because she couldn't make it.

  2. The Star has had the most for NCL, but I think there have been others, and every line has had several ships with pod problems.

     

    Agreed, but pods are not always at fault if the maintenance is not followed as required. Also you have to look at it this way; Electrical podded cruse ships consist of ~90% from ABB Azipods, just a few are Mermaid and rest fixed shaft.
