I received an email for a upgrade to a suite for almost $400. I declined, that is spending money

Received an offer to upgrade from a balcony to a suite today for $389. At that price, I will stick with my balcony.

You are not alone. I get so excited, I start obsessing over every detail of the cruise the second after the deposit is paid. 128 days to go and I want to start packing now.

Hello,
I am travelling on the Conquest in August with this itinerary and would be interested in your post cruise thoughts.
-
Thanks for the replies. I feel better about my room choice.
-
Yes it does. Thanks
-
Please explain what is the issue with GC and using the tenders?

I have a room booked on deck 10. What can I expect in terms of noise since that is the lido deck?
-
Has anyone stayed in rooms on deck 10 on the carnival conquest? Was it noisy?
-
I will be on the Victory Monday 1/30/17 and will check out each deck to see how far they are with the room renovations. Will also check the hairdryers. Let me know if there are any other questions and I'll report back here when I get back.
Thanks, I am interested in the room updates on deck 11. Enjoy your trip.

I am 28 days away until I leave for Vancouver to sail on the Jewel and I cannot wait any longer!
Normally when I book a cruise it is only 60 days out. This time we planned it out longer and it is driving me crazy. I cannot wait!
I was telling my daughter that I cannot plan a cruise this far out in advance again. I was thinking we started planning 6 months ago, and she replied, "Mom, we only started planning for this in JUNE." It feels like forever ago.
I know part of the fun for cruising is the planning, but how do you book so far in advance and not drive everyone around you crazy? I'm making myself nuts, I can't imagine what I'm doing to everyone else around me.
I can relate. We booked our September cruise last year in November. The closer it gets, the more excited I get. To contain myself, I obsess over every detail, check cruise critic several times a day and overdose on YouTube videos. In other words, I drive myself and everyone around me crazy.

There is a shuttle to Penn Station, and from there you can walk or take a cab. I'm not sure about a train (I'm in NJ). I think it's around $17 pp.
I would not suggest walking from Penn Station to the port. It is about 20 blocks or more. A cab is the better way to go from Penn Station.

Thanks for your reply. I am looking forward to trying it. Funny thing is I am afraid of heights, so we will see how far up I get.

Hi everyone!
My hubby and I were on the Gem August 8th - August 15th sailing. If anyone has any questions, let me know!
We didn't have our kids with us, so I can't comment on the Splash Academy.
We absolutely loved it and had no significant issues. The only thing I would mention is if you pre-book your dinners, definitely print out your reservations. They had no record of our reservations, but they were able to rebook most of them with 30-45 minutes of the original reservation time.
We did purchase 2 CruiseNext certificates, as the kids are getting older (no more daycare bills, LOL), so we are hoping to cruise a smidge more often and start bringing them.
Thanks!
Glad you had a good cruise. Was the rock wall open?

Thanks for all the responses. The MDR is definitely on my agenda embarkation day.
-
Is the mdr a lunch option on embarkation day? I have read old posts that suggest it is.

Does anyone know what is the purpose of selecting an arrival time during the online check in process, if it first come, first serve to board the ship. With the exception of those that are disabled or Latitudes members.
-
Thanks for the information.

When is lobster night on the Gem? I saw a video that on other NCL ships, it is served as part of the buffet. Does anyone know if that is true for Gem? :)

Micah's Granddad- I agree it might be worth the price on a cruise longer than 5 days.
