  1. Consider bidding on a Spa balcony room. I think most folks are successful even with low bids these days. Of course that will change as capacity opens up. NCL has the best thermal spas at sea in my opinion. At least on the Breakaway class ships.

  2. Casinos at Sea is not answering the phone or replying to emails. I have made multiple attempts to contact them. Beware booking through them as the customer service they provide is now nonexistent. I have let the phone ring for an hour more than once and sent several emails over the last 2 months. Not one time have they answered or replied. I know companies are short staffed but this is quite ridiculous.

  3. The ship has been empty for 3 weeks.  NCL did not have the forethought to get it moving in case there was a backup at the canal. I was booked on it. I'm moving to Royal permanently.  No need to be smart and tell me bye.  This is simply unacceptable.  A lack of planning is not an acceptable way to run a business. And they had to know this before today. Some people will be out airfare and or hotel. Simply because they chose to wait to tell us. I was within a few hours of not being able to cancel my Intercontinental reservation.  Which is not cheap.  Just frustrating to see how they run the line when they should be doing everything possible to gain trust in the pandemic cruise world.

  4. You can ask for disposable gloves. Use them to serve yourself and chunk them before you eat. Better safe than sorry. Noro can make you feel as bad or worse than Covid. And it has a history with anywhere folks gather and share utensils.

  5. For me, NCL wins over Royal and Princess for one reason: The design of the Atrium with either the Local or OSheehans overlooking from the floor above the Atrium. That has become one of my favorite spots, especially late night. Whether its watching a movie, live entertainment or the hilarious game shows, I love the atmosphere and being able to get really good food at no cost 24/7. Love it! (might be a lame reason to some, but with the great ships all lines have now, something small can tip the scale)

  6. The Escape is a wonderful ship. Sailed on her 4 times and would gladly go again. The outside parties at Spice H2O are a blast. Teppenyaki and Cagneys are 2 of my favorite specialty restaurants at sea. Get to the Atrium area early for the game shows and entertainment. You can sit at the overlook at the Local and munch some great bar food while watching also.  I hope you enjoy her as much as I have.

  7. In carried my daughter, son in law and 2 grandchildren on a Western Caribbean last October. (2019) With air and 2 cabins and other expenses it ran me about 10 grand. This one not on NCL.

On Halloween night I hit a "MAXI" jackpot for over 5 grand on a Star Watch slot machine. I put that money in my safe.

On Saturday evening (the last night)  I found a casino voucher for 40 bucks from earlier in the week that I had forgotten to cash in. I had not been back in the casino since the jackpot. The machine to cash the ticket in was out of order and there was a line at the cashier.

So I put it in to the other Star Watch machine next to the one I had gotten lucky on. Two spins later I hit the MAXI on it for over 5 grand. I still look at it as the Good Lord reimbursing me for doing a good thing!

Today, NCL started refunding ONLY port charges and pre-paid gratuities.  WHAT A JOKE.  They are supposedly waiting until later in June to start cruise refunds.  NCL is such a joke and not a funny one at that.

NCL hopes us customer dummies will appreciate this ridiculous refund.  To me, it shows how mismanaged this company is.  Hopefully, most of us have requested credit card refunds that will eventually be honored.

Remember all this when thinking about giving NCL any money on a future cruise.

NCL will never see my money again.

Mike - I was booked on the Gem 4/11 sailing via CAS. Have not received any information about the FCC, just simply the generic email that everyone got that my cruise was canceled. I opted to take the cash refund versus the FCC, and filled out the form for that on Monday. Received a generic confirmation email afterwards, but my reservation is still showing as Booked/Active under my accout.

Exact same scenario here for my 3/29 Encore comped cruise. Had about 850 tied up in fees, excursions, all of that stuff. Filled out the refund form on the 23rd. Everything is still active as far as the reservation looks. Someone said when you notice the extras disappear from your summary, then the refund process has begun. But you hear a lot of stuff. Not too worried, everything is documented. I know they have to be in chaos there.

I will never sail that Carnival trash I previously sailed.  NEVER again.  Hopefully Mardi Gras has some redeeming value.

Yes, I think I'll be fine on Allure.  I'm not going to cancel.  It's just OCD.

Dont worry man. I have been on the Allure 4 times. I took my daughter, her hubby and grandkids last October because I wanted them to experience it before the upgrades. The Allure is wonderful as is. They all loved it.

Thanks Tony but is the spelling correct? casinol?

Yes, for Casino Inquires.  And I continue to get quick responses from them so dont worry about what was posted above telling you not to.

I'm on the phone with them right now regarding this. I got through after only 8 minutes on hold. The lady that I spoke with through the Casinos at Sea line did not have an answer for me so had to transfer me to someone else. Now I'm on hold again awaiting an answer.

Please let us know what you find out. I dont want to cancel my 3/29 sailing on the Encore but if things continue to deteriorate I might have to.  I didnt upgrade my interior but I have a lot tied up in the other usual charges and excursions.

  13. Mine has been off since I booked with CAS. I paid my part in full and prepaid my service charges.  But after a day or two the system showed I owe 245 in Service charges. I am solo in an interior so it is obvious it is a mistake. CAS told me the same thing....its a system issue so ignore it. I do not like the idea of traveling to the port and having an issue when  I get there. I have the email from CAS so my fingers are crossed.
