We did a float plane ride over Misty Fjords on 6/21.
It was not colder on the plane. Actually took my raincoat off during flight. Did put it back on when we got off at the lake stop. We also wore hiking books (precaution should I have walked too close to edge of lake).
It was a great excursion- enjoy!

We are doing a similar package starting July 19 in Fairbanks and I am really having a hard time finding info about the land portion, so here goes...
1. What do you suggest doing in Fairbanks? We arrive late on 7/19 and will have until the coach leaves at 9:30 am on 7/21.
2. Once we get to Denali at 1:00, are there things to see/do on our own, or do you suggest booking an excursion?
3. How does one get more info about land dining packages? This is the first I've heard of those?
4. Can you tell more about the coach from Denali to Seward? Is is scenic, exhausting, food choices, etc.
(We kind of booked this on the spur-of-the-moment, and now I am realizing how little I know about what we signed up for!!!)

We are starting our tour in Fairbanks also, and I'm wondering if you did the same tour and can give me any more info. We take the coach from Fairbanks to Denali (9:30 am - 1:00 pm) on Sat and then Denali to Seward coach (7 am - 5 pm) on Sun and board the Noordam at 8 pm that evening. Do you know if any meals are included? How is the Denali-Seward coach - scenic, exhausting? Thanks so much!
We are doing the same. As I read up on the tour, More and more questions come up.
What is a Motorcoach? A Bus? A Train?
The Fairbanks -> Denali is 31/2 hours so I could see a bus
The Delani -> Seward is 10 hours so is that a train?
Please help.

Thanks for all the advise and hints so far.
I was not mad about my wife booking the trip, just a little hesitant about the length...
We are doing the 24 day Barcelona to Venice.
I fond the Roll Call for our trip and started reading... (It's a lot of info) about the excursions.
As far as the kids, we are taking the Nooks mainly for the airplane. They are little nerds and like to read.

We booked a 24 day cruise and we have never cruised before!
What have we done?!?
We will be traveling with kids (twin 9 year olds)
What do you do regarding cell phones? I know carriers have roaming charges and that can add up fast. Do you rent a phone? rent a sim card?
About WiFi. We want our kids to take their nooks to keep them entertained, but what do you about the wifi? is it worth taking a laptop?
Photos. We are planing to take a lot of picture. Do we take extra memory cards or upload them to a computer?
What to pack? Ok so that is not really a questions anymore, my wife has downloaded a lot of "must have" lists. What about "formal nights" I rarely use a sports coat. Do I really need to take one?
