    I just wanted to know if NCL came into the 21st century. Last time, years ago they did not have numerical keypads, like other cruise lines and I was afraid that I would have to find old card with strip.

    Am sailing on Gem this Saturday after a long absence from NCL and don't remember if the safes have a numerical keypad or do you still have to use the old fashioned type of credit card.

     

    I would appreciate a prompt answer so that I can plan.

  3. We will be on the Gem in two weeks and it has been a number of years since we sailed with NCL, so we would like to ask if anyone knows if:

    1s there a handicap entrance to the theater, stairs are hard for me?

    Are. They still having the cocktail tasting seminars that they used to have.

  4. I am the original OP and wasn't going to add to my original posting, but some of your replies are too much. I may not agree with what you have to say but will defend your right to say it. But some of your replies are nasty and unnecessary. We have cruised many times and booked this cruise when we got the email, 90 days before sailing. Payment was made on the last day it was due, all the time asking about what happens after payment date, We have never met anyone who has read the contract word by word.

     

    Thank you for your replies, but there are more important things. In this world than to berate someone for trying to get the most for their money. In this economy it may make a big difference in their cruise.

     

    May objection to NCL is their lack of customer service. And yes Princess does give credits after payment.

  5. Re: NCL Gem 11/15 to 11/22

    We booked a mid-ship balcony early and paid for it in full. The ship seems to be empty and the price has gone down alot of money. We were told, when we paid that if the price goes down, we would get an OBC for the difference.

    That's not the case, no credits, only an upgrade to a lower category cabin, now offering an amenity package but only new bookings.

    Extremely rude persons answering questions, they feel that it's not their problem if you booked earlier, they have the money and so what if it's cheaper now. Have written to Kevin Sheehan, the President about this situation.

    Stopped cruising NCL years ago and was trying them again because we live in NYC. Will go back to Princess, who knows how to treat past passengers. We guess that NCL would prefer half empty sailings to making passengers happy.

  6. Hi,

     

    If you can get a window suite on the 6th deck (no balcony) grab it, you get all suite priviledges, breakfast at Sabatini's, free dinner first night.

     

    We were in F311 last fall to Canada and loved it, near everything. You get a sitting area, bedroom area, large bathroom. It has everything a suite has, sometimes it's even less than a mini suite. The only two ships that have window suites are the Grand and CB Princess.

     

    If you don't need a balcony, you won't regret it.

    We will be again sailing on the CB Princess out of Ft. Lauderdale on August 9th. We would like to know if anyone presently or very recently knows the name of the Executive Chef? We have sailed Princess numerous times, only once was the food really bad and the crew said that the chef on that ship was to blame. We try to avoid him if we can.

  8. Hi

    The answer to your question is no, the mini bar is a perk for full suites and window suites.

    We were on the Grand last month in a full suite and the exchange was no problem.

    All you do when you first get into the suite is don't touch the set up and call ROOM SERVICE. And ask for two coffee cards. They are the ones that handle the exchange and will bring the cards with them when they come later to pick up the bar.

    I have spent many hours in trying to print out the benefits information about exchanging the mini bar for coffee cards and I give up.

    Princess customer service was no help.
