    1. Drink package- as several other cruises have mentioned bar service is hit or miss. It was a miss for us at the Solarium pool bar. We incurred several problems with our packages and had to address them with the F&B manager (not how I want to spend my vaca). We will not buy them again.

    2. Unhappy crew--we witnessed several loud arguments between staff and rudeness toward the guests.

    4. I only booked a six night cruise. I have learned my lesson here :D

This review was short and sweet and only reflects a few of my thoughts. While I think the cruise experience is not what is was 10 years ago, I still think it is a good vacation choice. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

Why the con for a 6 night and how was debarking?

Con for 6 night was because I wished it lasted longer, we had a great time.

Debarking was a breeze. We got up, ate breakfast at 730 in the MDR, and did the self debark with our luggage at 815. Walked off the ship, the lines moved quickly thru customs and was outside ready to pick up our car at 830.

  2. We traveled with a group of 7: myself, DH, 3 boys 27, 22, 21, my SIL and her husband. We booked a JS, an AFT BAL, and 2 inside rooms on deck 9. My children are scattered across the US, so my Christmas present to myself (and them) was to get everyone together on a cruise.:D

    PRO

    1. FOS is a great ship one of my favorite layouts. This was our first time in a JS and the extra room and balcony was great for hanging out with the family.

    2. Graham and Lucy at Boleros were fantastic bartenders. Boleros became our "home bar" on the cruise our favorite meeting place.

    3. We experienced perfect service at Giovanni's, it may have been the best I have experienced on a cruise ship.

    4. Tendering at Grand Caymen was simple and fast. Scanning of the sail and sign cards is a great improvement.

    5. There are plenty of activities onboard to keep everyone entertained and busy.

    6. I won the final jackpot BINGO!!!!

    7. We made some great family memories:hearteyes:

    3. Chops- normally we enjoy our meal here but the service was not up to par. We were offered a free meal to return but chose to decline and eat at the MDR.

  3. Here is my opinion and please don't flame me. Due to the alcohol packages being prepaid, I feel that Royal does not feel the need to have enough bartenders to serve us. They already have your money. Before the alcohol packages were being offered there was an abundance of bartenders in the lounges and by the pool.

We just had this same conversation with some friends that came off the Allure last week. We have both noticed the lack of bartenders and the lack of many top shelf selections that have been removed from the bar. If it is a tend...this will be the last beverage package we will buy.

  4. I am driving my family to the Port of Tampa this Sunday.

I am planning on stopping at terminal 2 around 11:30ish and letting everyone out along with the all the luggage. Meanwhile I will park the van in the parking garage and catch up with them. Is this a good plan, if not what do you suggest? How long will it take me to park the car and meet them?

Can someone describe what happens once you are at the curb?

    Thanks.

once you are at the curb, the porters will have your luggage out of the car before you can blink your eye....So make sure you have any bags you plan to carry on separated or they will be gone before you even notice. Your family can wait for you inside with no problem....it will take you no more than 5 or 10 minutes to park the car and meet back up with them. Tampa's embarkation procedures ran like a well greased machine when we where there.

    enjoy you cruise:p

  5. Anyone with an opinion (maybe tom and Cheryl)....How are the bars/clubs at night? We have done this itinerary on the Miracle in the past. We enjoyed the ports, but the night life was DEAD...All the bars were empty by 11:30-12:00. In contrast, the Valor was hopping at all hours...dance club, piano bar, live band ect. We are trying to decide between the Valor or Legend. The Legend is closer to us and is more affordable, but we do not want a repeat of the "Miracle experience" as far as nightlife. If anyone can compare the two, please let me know....Thanks:p
