We were fortunate to do the POA cruise in February 2020 before the whole pandemic shut down.  My dad enjoyed this cruise and we did too.  We decided to book it again with my brother and we will be on the September 3 sailing.  This will most likely be my dad's last vacation and I hope that we won't be cancelled.  We all have booked and paid for balcony staterooms.  We have specialty restaurants included in our package.  What restaurants are not open?  

We have decided not to do the River Cruise. We will look into doing one in a few years. I want to see Europe and have more flexibility instead of being on a ship.

Trying to navigate through all the River Cruising tips. I currently am interested in the Paris to Zurich Viking River Cruise for July 2019. I was shocked that there was no payment plan! I cannot pay for this a year in advance. So what are my options? I have looked at travel agents but they don’t advertise that cruise. One idea was that I save (set up my own payment plan) and hope that someone cancels? Does that ever happen?

I hope to do the Viking River Cruise from Paris to Zurich next summer. Your posts are interesting. I would like to have some extra days in Switzerland too. My husband and I are not fond of the big cruise ships (we have only done two) but I think we will enjoy the river cruise in that there are not mobs of people. What about the stops though? Will there be crowds of people? Are the areas tourist traps or are they really authentic. I just remember the taxi driver telling us that all the shops in Alaska were owned by the cruise lines. I hated hearing that.
