  1. This happened this morning on the Glory. They were saying on the ship that she fell from the 9th floor to the 3rd floor in the atrium inside. News stories say it was 2 floors...sure hoping the news is right. It was a sad way to end the cruise. We had 3 other medical emergencies this past week, one before we even made it out of the port in Miami, one in Cozumel, and another that had to be taken by coast guard boat to Key West. Don't have any other details but prayers for all these families...

We've been at the port sitting in the priority lounge since 10:30 waiting to board.. I figured something must have happened.. this is jus the sad..

  2. This so called sale is misleading.. They are trying to charge me $800 to save $400 plus charge me a penalty to change and give up my onboard credit. Obviously you would have to be as dumb as a rock to change to this promo but I am trying to get somebody there to try to justify to me how they thought charging more to get something for free was a good promotion.. Talking to the third person now as nobody here can figure out what to say... What a joke...

  3. My mom and I both received letters on the last day of our cruise aboard the Freedom on August 4th. The casino host handed them to me and told me to make sure I didn't lose the letter. The letter was for a free 3-6 day cruise or 50% off 7 days or longer along with a couple of hundred of casino cash. This was the first time either of us received a free cruise but we also have free wine delivered to our dining table every night for each of us and my brother so we ended up taking the bottles home. Not sure what triggered the free cruise but I know the casino host spent a lot of time talking to us every night and we did play a lot of slots with us losing and then winning then losing again.. Lol. I think it may have to do with you "play time" and not necessarily the amount of money put in but I could be wrong.

Unfortunatly, we had to book within 15 days after we docked and the airfare was way to high for us to fly from the East Coast back to Florida so we will not be taking advantage of the free cruise. )-:

  4. Hi,

My family of 11 had a great stay at the Chase Suites under the "Stay & Sail" package.

The 2 two-bedroom suites were very clean and spacious. It also included breakfast the next morning and pickup and drop off to and from the pier.

We called the hotel the min we found our luggage and the van was outside within 10 mins to take us back to the airport.

I would use this hotel again if I sail out of Tampa next summer

  5. Thank you for making me feel better about my choice of the "Chase Suites". I'm going to go in there remembering that this is not the Ritz Carlton. It's just a place for us to hang out for the day before our cruise. Hopefully our experience will be a good one. Either way, I'll post my review on the board after my stay there

Thank you for all your help and guidance on this thread. Your opinion really helps those not familiar with the Tampa area.

    Take Care,

    Michelle

  6. Hi,

I was told you have to book under the ship to shore special to get the port price included into the room. I'm paying $169 for the two bedroom suite.

I figured the price is really good b/c there's 11 of us and when I checked for the same room without the "special" code, it was $159 for the two bedroom so were paying an extra $10 per room for 11 people to be shuttled to and from the port.

I was told that the rooms were on the 2nd floor so I know I have to drag the suit case up the stairs. Are there no elevators to use?

Did you get the free breakfast deal also? If so was it any good?. Did you dine at any resturants in the area?

    Thanks,

    Michelle

  7. Hi,

When I put in the ship to shore package code which is SSP, the rates quoted for the rooms include the port transportaion. Here's the statement from their website:

Package includes transportation to and from Port of Tampa, parking at no charge at hotel Two Bedroom Suite featuring full kitchen, living room with fireplace and two separate bedrooms. Bedroom on main floor features king size bed and full bath. Bedroom on second floor features loft overlooking the living room and a king size bed with full bath. Couch in living room pulls out to full size sleeper sofa. Rate includes daily breakfast buffet and social hour (M -Thur).

I'm going to cross my finger and keep my existing reservation. I also plan on calling and speaking to the Manager prior to my arrival date. I will also be bringing the page from their website showing the info about the port being included in the price.

If they try to swindle me into paying extra for the port, I will hold up the entire payment for the rooms.

    I'm hoping for the best.

    Thanks,

    Michelle

  8. Hi,

I just read your experience and my stomach dropped. I just cancelled my Hilton Westshore reservations for the Woodfin / Chase suites because there are 11 people in my group.

I'm holding two 2 bedroom suites and was told that the "ship to shore" price included transportation to and from the port.

Were you also told this at the time of booking and then they changed their story? or did you book you room as a regular reservation?

I really don't want to have to find another hotel but I don't want my group to think that I booked them a "dump" for the night. Looking forward to any advice you can give.

    Thanks,

    Michelle
