  1. I wanted to know for those previous cruisers, about how much in cash should I take for tips? I will be covering my tips as well as my 10 y/o sister. We have all paid the gratuity in advance, but I like to tip when I get good service especially at the bar area. I understand that each person is different I am just looking for about an estimate.

  2. What cruise line is it? Take a look at what kids activities there are and which ones she'll want to do. You may find that there are things she'll want to do by her self. You'll still have time to spend as a family.

We will be on Carnival Pride and I have seen a little bit of what they offer and I know she will want to spend a lot of time at the camp, but I want to make sure I spend time with her.

  3. So we are cruising in about 30 days and I have wanted to know for the families that travel with kids. How do you do balance a vacation for yourself as well as make memories with your kids. I am traveling with my little sister who is 10 and I'm 29. However I want to make this very special for her, but I want to let loose a little bit. Would the night owls be a great option?

  4. So after a drunken proposal, I decided that I need to propose properly so that is why I want to propose to my boyfriend on our upcoming cruise in Nov. This would be our first cruise and I am not sure what would be a romantic spot. I am cruising out of Baltimore to Port Carnival, and Freeport. When we get to Nassau it is not an option because its my birthday lol. Also we have a balcony stateroom. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  5. Thank you guys for your help... I've been in my little sister life from the moment she was born she see me as a second dad. I def think I should make sure that we all have breakfast together first and then let her tell me what she is planning on doing for the rest of the day so a) I can be with her or b) she is somewhere I trust. I def trust her judgment because I have taken her to Disney before with no problems. I think I am more worried about the fact that we are on a ship. Which based on a lot of the responds it looks like is no different than being land base. I know for a fact that she is aware that she is not allow to be near the pools with out supervision and she is fine with that. The last question I ask is, if we are all having a drink and she wants to go to the arcade as long as I drop her off and pick her up there is nothing to worry about?

Again thank you so much for all your answers cause this our first cruise ever, we've done other vacations but not something like this.

  6. After a long battle with my parents they have allowed my little sister (10) to join us on our first cruise. So naturally I have a lot of concerns, I signed her up for camp carnival so she could meet other kids her age. When my mother found out about this she kind of got upset and stated that she expect her to be with me at all times. I understand her concern because its a new experience. My real question is if she decided to get up earlier than us and want to head off to the camp by herself how safe is it to let her do that?

  7. I have a quick question, most of the threads I have read state that people go to the pool on embarkation day. We will be cruising in Nov out of Baltimore, has anyone cruised in the colder months if so, how cold does it get up in the decks for the pools?

  8. My partner and I will be traveling on our first cruise and we are taking my little sister. Now I always get asked if she is my daughter because she is 9. My question is will we get weird looks from staff, since she will be staying in our stateroom. Are there any concerns when we are at any ports in the Bahamas.
