  1. Thanks. We did buy a Luggie and love it too. Even got through Ephiseus with it! Now we have booked our next cruise on Oceana Sirena in September and that's the scooter we are taking again. I also use it at home to cart around in our SUV instead of a wheelchair. Much more freedom for both of us.

  2. No. The menu in Blu is very different. There is no reason to spend the extra $$ for an Aqua cabin if you want to dine in the MDR. Your TA needs training.

We are home from our cruise and here is the answer. I was in Aqua class and when dining in Blu I could also order anything in any combination off the MDR menu as well as Blu menu. All you have to do is ask for that menu.

Next. We went to MDR on occasion and needed no reservation and did not get charged any differently than original billing where we got prepaid gratuities as part of our package.

  3. I think your TA is confused. They should not be picking select dining for someone in AQ. When one picks select dining, it automatically triggers a gratuities charge. It has nothing to do with what's going on in the MDR. Your assigned dining room is Blu. When you book in Blu, you should be booked as an assigned dining customer.

I am on Equinox in a few days and in AQ. First cruise in 23 years so dining so different. I also got the 123 deal so grats prepaid. I was surprised to hear from TA that my res was in Blu. I was looking forward to MDR. Now she has put me on wait list for select in MDR. Question. She told me that Blu serves exactly same menu as MDR plus more. Is this so?

  4. Husband has Luggie and loves it for travel. He also has the carry case to use for air travel to help prevent damage. He is able to walk short distances with a cane.

Does anyone have suggestions for shore excursions on Med. Not thrilled about accessible ones offered by Celebrity. Thinking of just getting a cab and asking for tour??

  5. We are taking our first cruise in 22 years. We will be on Celebrity in September in the Mediterranean. It is also the first since my husband had a stroke and is right side weak. We have just bought a Luggie to take but we also have a Pride Gogo sport travel scooter that can be taken apart. Trying to decide which to take. I thought the Luggie would be good for getting off the ship and excursions because it is lighter and folds in a second. The Gogo however is way more comfortable and I has more power and might be better for those rougher pavements. Would love to bring both ...and his chair but can't do all. Has anyone had experience with off the ship and how non accessible tours might work with the scooters??

  6. Thank you everyone for your input! We have booked a HC room so that is all good. Does anyone have an opinion on which scooter works best for cruise and shore. We have both a Luggie folding which is very easy to move around but not as comfortable as his Pride Gogo sport traveler which comes apart and is a travel scooter but much larger. .?

  7. We will be on Celebrity Equinox in September and are in Aqua class accessible room. My husband uses a rail to pull himself out of bed as he only has use of his left arm. Do the beds accomodate a rail or can I rent them on the ship?

We have not cruised for years and this will be the first holiday since he has had his disability.

  8. We are doing eastern Med in Sept. This will be our first cruise in 22 years. It will also be the first trip like this since his stroke. He can walk, not well, with a cane for short distance. He has no real functional use of his right arm. He has scooters but the travel type is probably too big for a non handicap room.

Has anyone rented a scooter on these cruises? Any suggestions if we buy, for a foldable type? Any helpful suggestions for offshore excursions or just tips for traveling from Canada to Europe with these disabilities? Thanks.
