We've been to Playa Palancar twice. There were peacocks each time, just wandering around. We went there because it was one of the farthest from the port due to all the ships in port that day. We really liked it. We did a snorkel trip there the first year and DH did a discover scuba the next. They were both great. The food was pretty good and reasonable. They also have some shopping booths set up for souvenirs. There's no problem getting a taxi back to the ships! There were multiple taxis in the lot just waiting to take people back.

We were also planning on trying out the CHEERS program on our upcoming cruise, but this just priced it out of our price range!

We had an aft balcony on the Triumph in Jan. 2013. It was an unusually cold week and we rarely felt comfortable on it due to the temp. I had to wear the Carnival robe to sit out there. Even in Cozumel it wasn't that warm.
We will book another aft, but it won't be on a ship out of Galveston in January. We also had the roughest seas we've ever experienced. So probably not a fair assessment.

It may be too far, but Macao beach is incredibly beautiful! It's also fun to play in the waves. The waves aren't overwhelming but fun to body surf or boogie board.

mom2bradley--would you provide the recipe you use for the BBC's please :D

We don't have access to any Restuarant that could compare to the Chefs Table experience. I enjoyed the 1st menu the best, my husband preferred the 2nd menu. So even though we're done CT twice before, we'll be enjoying it again in 2 weeks on Conquest. Even without a new menu.

#1 The cost
#2 we've always enjoyed our cruises on CCL
#3 again, the price difference

Great review! Thanks for taking the time to post it! We're leaving for Miami 2 weeks from tomorrow to sail on the Conquest, and can't WAIT!
-
Wouldn't pay over $20 per ticket on any of the current artists.
-
Great review! We've done the Chef's Table on the Miracle and Liberty. We've also booked it for our upcoming cruise on the Conquest in 26 days!! :D

You could also check and see if FTTF is still available for your cruise. It's $49 for the cabin and you get priority tendering.

Sent a request to the event planner email address. Received an automated response almost immediately that we'd be contacted directly to let us know if it was available.
We've been twice before and I hadn't planned on doing it again in February. But my hubby of 22 years surprised me and was very disappointed that we weren't going to do it. I was going to wait for another menu change. Not that I didn't love the menu that they're serving currently.

That was our situation on our last cruise. Carnival dot com showed us as gold. Our card when we boarded was gold. We received the invitation to the past guest party that you have to be gold at a minimum.
-
We've really enjoyed both. We've met some really great table mates, some not so great and enjoyed dining alone. One of my favorites though was dining at an 8 person table with our Cruisecritic group and surrounded by other tables with our group!

I enjoyed the show. It actually made me reconsider going on a cruise with Jamica a port stop.

Cascais -- Thanks so much for the info! I saw the Sky Grille on the deck photos. Looks like it's on the opposite side of the Pizzaria.
We're counting down the days :D

We're booked on the Conquest 02/2014. We've never been on a ship with the 2.0 upgrades. I have a few questions and want to clairfy some things if I can :o
Is the pizzaria still 24/7? It looks like the Caesar salads & calzones have been removed from the menu?
If I understand correctly there's no charge for Guys Burgers, the Blue Iguana Cantina's food, the Taste Bar and Fish & Chips. Do I have that right?
Is the line long for the Taste Bar? What do they serve from the Sky Grille now? Does anyone know the hours for Fish & Chips?
Thanks for any help. As you can tell I'm all about the food on a cruise

Thanks for the pics! They're great. We've not sailed on a ship with the 2.0 upgrades yet, so it was great seeing some of the food!
02/2014 we'll be on the Legend so we can try 'em!

I have trouble staying off cruisecritic & tripadvisor planning and over planning :) And just reading about cruising!

Just off the Liberty and ordered the WCMC the 1st night in the MDR. It was very runny, noy good at all. Then had ut again at the Chef's Table and it was perfectly cooked!
Like posted earlier, there's no consistency. But I've had it undercooked more often than overcooked.
-
Textures are what get to me. HATE hominy, the texture, taste but most of all the smell! Runny oatmeal and creamy of wheat. Fried okra is fine but not cooked any other way. Of course I like just about anything fried :D

I don't remember there being pizza on ncl. Loved the pizza on Carnival Triumph but didn't like it at all on the Carnival Miracle.
