    On the P&O website now!

Each guest aged 18 years (21 years in United States of America ports) and older may bring up to 1 litre of wine, Champagne on board as they embark the ship for the first time only. Wine or Champagne over the 1 litre limit will be stored and returned to the guest prior to the end of the cruise. If this alcohol is consumed in the dining rooms, bars, restaurants or lounge areas, it will be subject to a corkage fee of £20* per bottle, per occasion which will be charged to the guest’s on-board account. Other alcohol types such spirits are considered restricted items and prohibited to bring on board when guests first embark the ship.

The problem with bringing on board at Embarkation is that P&O have no control over what are in your suitcases as they do not search them as Associated British Port Security undertake this task!. So the last sentence is worthless.

Last time we left for Dover it took just over 4 hrs from Crewkerne Somerset (we were second pick up) Stop at Amesbury for Coffee & Loo (Other passengers were from Torbay). Then quick Loo Stop @ Services on M20. Our pick up was 10.00am.

But it's still a lot of work for at most 5% of sales.

As someone said earlier the best system , publish prices open to all that will hold for say first week or two irrespective of how many bookings at that price. Let people book online, much simpler lower cost system.

Even better just have one price for select , one for guarantee cabins,  don't change it.

But you would will still have the "Fluid" Price System & loose the Early Booking Pre-Reg max discount! Very odd wanting to accept higher prices!.

I think it is certainly now time that Saga came up with a less laborious system than the advance- registration-wait-for-the-phone-call system.

Apart from the phone costs and labour time for Saga, there is the aggravation of waiting for a phone call - and this time it seems to be taking a very long time to work through the list (must have been a lot of pre-registrations).

(I preregistered late, end of June 2023, and am still waiting for "the call".)

Apparently over 3000 Pre Registered for 2025.

Agree 12.6% is not as bad as above. But it's more than the increase in most of their customers income. Continuing increases that outstrip customers income will not be sustainable.

Booked a Canaries Cruise with an increase of £200 over 2024 price (approx 7% increase)

The calls have already started this evening.

Why didn't Saga issue the E-Brochure last Friday to give people to mull over the Cruises & then start ringing on Monday. With all the issues over the Brochure Launch & some not resolved until yesterday afternoon. Seems very rushed when a bit of sensible planning could be easily applied.

This link works for me too.  Much better than the link from the Saga email.  Not sure how you've done that, but thank you.

The link is the same as Saga sent out & not all link to individual Cruises working.

Today’s MDR menus plus, for those who might be interested, the Italian menu from the Beach House last night. Apparently there’s a menu A and menu B for that as well and this is menu B which is the more popular one (so we are told).

And now Mixed Fish @ Lunchtime & Dinner!. Still plenty of variety two days running!. Certainly not well thought out Menus.

  9. On another Site Saga have been quoted as saying that the E-Brochure will be sent out this weekend & phone calls will commence from Monday.

Still waiting patiently for the 2025 summer E brochure.......(sigh)

Flyers for "2025 Coming Soon" were sent out nearly four weeks ago. For the last 2 years the E-Brochure has been issued @ end of February. If this year follows suit why not advertise a Date for the E-Brochure release & General On Sale date (usually approx 4 weeks later). Perhaps this is too simple a system?. At this rate it will be Easter before General Sale is open. Get on with it Saga!

Just had an email about pre-registering for 2025!

Southampton treated Saga as the underdog. We had to use Sapphire's crane to unload cases when the Queens were in port. It was chaotic, so I wasn't surprised they moved to Portsmouth to be top dog.

Southampton was too expensive & I would suspect that Portsmouth lured Saga with a Long Term Contract at good rates.

That means it could be March before we get the E Brochure!  Even later than last year (I got the E Brochure on 28 February).  I just wish Saga would get on with it as I'm holding off other plans until I see the itineraries.  I know we're all fortunate to be able to have these lovely cruises given what's going on in the world at the moment but the waiting around is beginning to take its toll 😂.

And other Cruise Lines will be issuing Summer 2026 itineraries in March!, Get on with it Saga.

  13. Informed yesterday by Saga HQ that E Brochure should be sent out in the next two weeks. Over two weeks ago a flyer stated "2025 Cruises coming soon" but I suppose so is Christmas!.

I am not trying to defend P&O because food should be better than many have experienced both in quality and choice. However, galley space on Aurora is likely to be small and there can only be a limited amount of different dishes that they can physically produce. This is not helped by the need to cover not just vegetarian / pescatarian / vegan dishes but also special diets such as gluten free, low fat, low sugar etc. These need separate, dedicated preparation areas which cut back on space for the ‘ordinary’ menu choices. Maybe the larger ships with larger galleys can manage this more easily and effectively.

The MDR Menus used are the same for all Ships.
