  1. We had a butler on the Star who was very nice and helpful. However, he asked my husband his favorite bedtime treat. Tim told him coconut ice cream, and he would like it around midnight. I never laughed so hard, we got back to the room and there on the table was a bowl with now melted coconut milk.

I felt so bad every night he asked Tim if he wanted ice cream again. We just politely declined.

and before it's asked we did not adjust the tip, he was absolutely wonderful.

Just got email about upgrade offer.  Considering $75pp for Spa Mini Suite on the Bliss.  What’s the advantage of a Spa Mini-Suite?  Is it worth $150?

We loved having the spa mini, we utilized the spa almost daily. If your not going to use it then maybe not worth it, depends on the type of cabin you have now $75 pp is a great price

  5. Sorry if it's posted elsewhere - i tried searching but failed to find anything.

We are on the 11/26 Breakaway from NY. Will the ship be decorated for the holidays or will the week after thanksgiving be too early for decorations?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Forums mobile app

we have sailed many time the week after Thanksgiving and usually they start right at sailaway and amazingly enough when you wake in the morning the rest of the ship is normally done

  7. Thank you for all the info. I have never been on NCL and have been considering it. We just went on Carnival Miracle a week ago (had been 10 years since my last cruise) and noticed things have gone downhill. I have sailed princess and celebrity before but never ncl.

We have sailed Carnival, Royal and Princess and until this cruise Princess was favorite but the Getaway has become our new favorite and NCL was always high on our list of favorites.

  8. I posted them from this cruise along with some other info on the spa, Vibe, etc., right after the cruise. I'm sure if you search using my name it will pop up.

Thanks I told others that I had seen them but could not find, will look and it will save me some work

  9. Well that is pretty much it, Disembarkation was a breeze, luggage out by 11 pm, breakfast at 8 and off the ship by 8:45.

I hope this review does justice to this fantastic ship, her crew and senior staff. We love NCL and her freestyle concept but with the new dining package and the dedication of Sean and his staff this is the best cruise vacation we have ever had, Did not detect any of the usual roll out issues that are typical of new ships and crews.

If I can offer any advice to people who are planing to cruise this ship or any other is always go to the meet and greet to meet other CCers and senior staff of that ship, and by all means get involved in all the activites and attractions afforded you.

I will answer questions if I can, If I dont respond it is not from rudeness it's just that I dont know the answer to your questions.

  10. Ok so we are docked in Nassau and surrounded by 5 other ships including 2 Disney, 2 Carnival and a Celebrity. The following pics will tell the story but I will tell you this, NCL really rolled out the red carpet for her returning passengers, not just a few crew members but all the senior staff as well, and that is our cruise director and her assistant on the stilts.

    NCL

These other cruise lines should hang their heads in shame, Passengers from Carnival actually strolled NCL's red carpet and took pics with the characters enroute to their ship. The senior staff and all the entertainment stayed outside welcoming guests for at least 2 hours. This to me shows that NCL is commited to hospitality and not just revenue. I have never been on a cruise where the hospitality was this fantastic

  11. I am going to show your review to my family tonight!

I just booked yesterday on the Getaway and this will be our first ever Family Vacation in Dec., right before X-Mas. My wife and I have gone once a year for the past three now and I am hooked, but I have always felt guilty not taking my two sons, SO when I told them this Dec. we are all going I have never seen my two Boys (age 9 & 13) so excited! we all site for an hour looking at videos on You Tube...

We are going to start saving our pennies now............ I see in your pictures they have bowling, air-hockey, etc... do the games cost extra?

Yes They do cost extra and to play the games you just swipe your key card so caution your boys, maybe you can set a daily spending limit so they dont over due

  12. I see "Entertainment" and "Onboard Services" on the interactive screens -- can you also book shows and spa appointments on them?

Not sure about spa as I never looked into it, It did have a spa button on screen, Yes you can book dining and shows from the screens.
