John Smith bay is gorgeous and very few people. No ammemties though but was so worth it for us to have almost a private beach. Harbour nights is free and a nice way to pass an evening.

Yes. Entire area is co ed so wearing a swim suit is a must. The only separate area is the locker room.

I cannot speak to Royal but have been on Epic, Getaway, Breakaway and Escape with 3 late teen girls. We have all had an absolute blast on each of these!! Lots of do, great food and entertainment. No complaints at all and already booked on the Bliss.

We have been in balcony rooms on Escape, Breakaway and Getaway. Love them all and very similar to each other!!! Whichever you choose will be great.

The pirate ship also has a swimming area and inflatable water slide to use for $5 per person. Kids can swim while adults enjoy drinks.

I agree with the above post. Our family of 5 has done 6 cruises and we leave for our next one very shortly. Most of our cruises have been with NCL, and we usually budget for $2000--$2500 each. We take into consideration, actual cruise fare, gratuities, on board spending ( specialty coffee, a few drinks, the special show which costs extra), taxis, admission to beaches ( chairs, umbrellas), excursions, parking at home , one night in hotel evening before and flight to cruise port.
All that being said, we love cruising and became addicted after our first one!!! Most have been with NCL and we have never been disappointed. Great ships, service, food and entertainment. Lots to do if you want to yet spots around ships for quiet time too.
Good luck planning.

I was on the Escape over Halloween and they had lots of decorations out at dinner time and self serve candy tables. Many people dressed up in costumes in the evening and the dance party was Halloween theme. So fun!!!

In Bermuda, can we get any open air bus tours?

🤣[emoji23][emoji1][emoji6] I love your humour!!Also beware of stairs, pool decks, hand rails, wet balconies, spilled food in the buffet and of course, hot coffee. My kids don't like it but I make them wear helmets, knee and elbow pads for the entire cruise.
p.s. If you eat the ice cream too fast you get brain freeze. ;p

[emoji106]thank you. [emoji4]FWIW - we had a land stay in Bermuda several years ago. They don't let tourists rent cars so we'd decided to rent scooters. My DH had ridden motorbikes for several years but he didn't feel at all comfortable on the scooter so we got our money back.
I think you're very smart not to get scooters, Lisa. This is from 2015 but still a scary statistic: http://bernews.com/2015/01/586-road-deaths-since-1962/
That being said, the ferries and minibuses are wonderful :)

If you have never ridden a motor scooter or motorcycle before, then learning to ride one in Bermuda is not recommended. You mentioned winding roads and then there are narrow roads, fences, buildings and shrubery out to the sides of the road, no breakdown lanes on most roads, and you drive on the other side of the road.
If you are still considering it, suggest you read this post by member hamlettm titled Should I rent a scooter in Bermuda???

Thank you so much for this link. I read this post and definitely get the message. No scooters for us. 🤤

Does anyone have any opinions on rentals of motor scooters for tourists? It would be my 17 year old daughter and myself in one, my husband and 15 year old daughter on one and my 18 year old daughter druving herself.
We are thinking of it but have heard mixed reviews. Some saying it is dangerous due to winding roads and passing cars/ buses. Others saying it is a great way to see the island.
We have never riden anything with 2 wheels other than a regular bicycle.
Thoughts please?

Oh wow!!! I really thought that was the cheapest way. Curious to know if that is the case with calling and booking directly with NCL. I just did this myself 2 weeks ago for a cruise in August. I hope it was a fair price.

Yay!!!! I was able to see it on my laptop. It was fantastic!!! Well done!

The tea is verrrry weak. No tea flavour, just coloured water. Bring your own if you enjoy nice tea. [emoji4]

The laundry bags are not as large as a plastic grocery bag.

We did it with NCL. A great day but fairly expensive for 5 of us. Either way you choose, don't miss this spot. Beautiful!

I agree with Tag617. We have been on a few of the NCL ships and have enjoyed every minute of each cruise. We too will be on the Breakaway in August as Bermuda has been on my bucket list!

If you want to park at the pier but do most of your driving the previous day staying overnight at a hotel I suggest you consider finding a hotel in the Parsippany, NJ area off of Route 80...assuming that is a likely route for your drive from Ontario. It's a nice suburban area that is an hour or less from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. There are often good prices for the hotels in that area on weekends. Stay there the night before and drive to the pier in the morning. It makes far more sense than trying to find a room and a place to park in Manhattan for a night and will cost you significantly less. Otherwise, if you want a package, try the Hilton Garden Inn Ridgefield Park as I suggested in my first reply to your question.
You have been such a help! I finally booked-- Hyatt Place Secaucus meadowlands. Got a very good price-- just under $300 Canadian for the night.👍👍👍

Thermal Suite on Breakaway
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
I have been to both Thermal Suites and love them all. I would say the Getaway/ Breakaway Thermal Suites area is identical to the Escape except for the snow room. Less like Epic, really, in layout.
