  1. I prepay always. And then give additional for my room steward, and others that have provided great service.

And I know that the crew knows because on one of my cruises, my ankle had started to hurt and it was swelling making it difficult for me to walk. My room steward would always have a nice bucket in my room with an ice pack for the swelling. He found an ankle brace for me. I paid him extra every night for that, and gave him extra at the end of the cruise for his caring concern. He did not want to take it and had mentioned that my gratuities were prepaid and I shouldn't give him more money. He did eventually take it because I insisted that he did because he didn't have to go out if his way like he did. He was very thankful!!

So long story short, they know when you prepay!!

  2. Thanks Sherlock43031, got it, be ready for Michigan weather :D

Ship geeks, We do plan on being on deck for sail aw way with a dod in hand, ;) great advice!! Will look for a packable wind jacket (warm), to the Caribbean

Thanks for the suggestions duck lite, I'm sure there will be opportunities to purchase anything that I can't find at home, at least I hope so, :p I don't mind shopping!!!

Thanks everyone, I know I have some time to get things in order I just like prepare in advance.......

  3. I'm cruising out of NYC in October. I really would love your opinions on what to wear. We'll be there pre-cruise 2 days. I'm not sure what the temperatures are like in NYC in the Fall, so not sure what to pack. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated from the fashionista's ;)

I normally like to dress comfortable. For the plane ride I normally will wear a really casual two piece suit with cute flats. I change at the hotel for sightseeing or other activities that are planned :)

What do I need to bring and what can be left at home? I'm from Michigan, so I'm use to changing weather conditions at the drop of a hat :D

  4. Just booked this hotel for our October cruise, at the anniversary rate $110 :D

You cannot book it through the hotels original website, you must use the anniversary URL site. I found it by searching for the anniversary rate via the Chicago Tribune, which had the exact listing that the OP posted.

Like the OP said, you cannot beat that rate in New York!!! :p

If you have questions just ask!!

  5. Hello Everyone, wanted to know if anyone has any info regarding hotels, airports and transportation information to pass on to someone that has never been to New York???

Leaving out of MI, planning on staying 2 nights pre-cruise, hotel and airport that's close to the cruise port, but reasonable.

Would like to sight see the day before cruising. Near good restaurants that are a most to visit.....

    Thanks in advance to all!!!

  6. My co-worker just returned from San Juan vacationing in the Condado area and ran into this guy near the hospital, and he is still telling the same story, my co-says that he suggested to the gentelmen that he stay away from that area as he ran into this guy on his last vacation to San Juan as well......

He says the guy was not bloddy and beat up but he did look rough...

He also warned me about a guy that is on the trolley, and he's licking his phone and talking to himself....
