THe RCCL cooking classes, if I remember correctly, had a fee.
DCL offered napkin folding a little more often.
Yes, there was a new hair dryer on the drawer in the cabin, but they left the ancient and ugly one on the wall in the bathroom.

We were aft. Not that far from you. Close enough to wonder why there were fans, but far enough away to not know it was a stateroom and not a crew room. Yeah..sounds like they were just hoping no one would notice there was an issue.

I said it was better than those. To each their own. I am shocked that I am in the minority here. I am usually the one saying "ew, this is not for me"

I am very sorry this happened to you. We were on deck 6 and had no problems. We never noticed any smells. I will say that in the main theater, near the doors, there was a dripping ceiling.
I do not know why they did not do more refurbishment during dry dock. It's as if they picked a few things and forgot anything else.
Hope your next cruise is way better.

We were literally just there and I can't understand why people continue to say stay on the ship. Nassau people were surprisingly very friendly and helpful. The town and area are much "nicer" than many ports we have been to. The drive in the jitney from town to Cable Beach was pretty pleasant, actually. I am a pretty picky person. I like nicer things within reason. It was nicer than Jamaica, Honduras, and Cozumel.
My rec is to have a beach day. We took the #10 jitney (it's about an 8 minute walk to the bus), paid 2 bucks a person each way. We went to the Melia. Got a day pass and it includes a free starbucks drink. While there was some seaweed on the beach and a few people trying to sell stuff, but it was an enjoyable experience. We saw 2 ship employees on the beach there. It was not crowded at all.
I would classify the Melia to be a low level resort. It has a lot of room for improvement, but met our needs for the day. They are building a sweet looking Grand Hyatt near it and that will be where we'd get a room next time and use that beach. We do not go to the Atlantis or Blue Lagoon because how dolphins are treated there is unacceptable.
Let me know if you have questions. I absolutely say get off the boat. You're stuck on it 3 other days solidly. Why stay on it more? I would say most of the people got off on this day, too.

I have wondered for the longest time just how different the two lines are. I have heard others say DCL wins and I would think "surely they can't be that different!". Well, YES they are :).
Overall, Disney wins.
We were just on the Wonder. 7 day sailing.
DCL does better:
food quality,variety and taste
their app (get the app!!!! it is a must!) and portable phones
entertainment
treating you like guests of honor
more space in the interior room. While minor, still helped.
More activity options (free cooking class, napkin folding, etc)
Rotational dining and entertainment while dining
Fireworks!!
Better things on TV (movies such as Elf and the new Ghostbusters, Disney Jr. shows, Disney movies)
RCCL does better:
food availability
library and game room
less announcements
I would say the ships' cleanliness was about the same. I would not say the Wonder was pristine because I saw a few minor things that they did not fix while in dry dock such as floor corners and edges that were in need of repair (nothing major). They left the old and rather ancient blow dryers in the bathroom. I think they could have spruced things up better while in dry dock.
I can't compare the kids' club on both ships because we only used DCL kids club. I will say the DCL kids club HAS to be the winner. You just can't beat what they have for kids.
I am sure I missed some things on here, but I wanted to post that I am amazed how different the ships are. We are DCL converts!

I guess we use usd? how much to bring for cab fare to and from melia? do you think we can just go to melia itself and buy a day pass there? I dont want to use any of the websites that arent the real melia.

Because I know I could get the lower price, I have checked our cruise's price daily since the day we booked. We booked 10 months in advance and the prices definitely went up...until 4 months before embarkation. It is currently 2 dollars cheaper than the price we booked it at and we have just under 3 months to go now. Just paid in full...so we will see what the prices to from here till we go on it. Can't do anything about it now though.

Our TA put us on the wait list when booking us. Fingers crossed! I could probably still call DCL on my own, right?
-
So if we are looking for a beautiful beach, we won't find it in any of these places?
-
We booked 10.5 months in advance for our November cruise. We wanted the earlier dinner, but are in the 8pm dinner group. We are wait-listed for the earlier dinner. It's a bummer. Will this possibly change once the due date for full payment comes at the end of August?

Is this a bad idea? Is back of the ship louder?
-
Thank you!! How do we get day passes? I don't see any legit sites selling them online and our cruise line (Disney) has none listed.

I am looking for a beach in Nassau that does not have captive dolphins (Blue Lagoon, Atlantis) or does not support captive dolphins (I don't want to go to the beach in Atlantis). Is there a safe beach within walking distance of the port? Another place?
Thanks!

Is there any counter space in these rooms' bathrooms? Going on the Navigator, not sure if it matters.
Thanks!

Are they going to take it from me right away at the terminal before boarding?
I need it for my next trip because I won't be going home after the cruise. Its a whiskey that is very hard to find....rare.

So...you're telling me their tv sucks? lol
Sounds tortuous.
-
Will these channels be real-time or several hours late news?
I wish they had something fun like the comedy channel or something?
I know...I am a weirdo that is asking about tv on a cruise lol. I love me some tv. It is part of my relaxation.
-
Sorry- my question was not correct, but thank you. Yay for flat screens :)
What kind of channels or programming is there?
-
What kind of tv do we get in each room?
-
Another question!!
Are there adults only areas?
-
A safe! That is pretty awesome! I did not expect that. Perfect! Thanks!

Any tips on keeping these things safe from being stolen? I can't imagine they are often stolen, but I just find myself feeling very paranoid about these things. We are only bringing on the must-haves to minimize any worry.
Thanks!

Don't do a dolphin swim...let's get up to date guys...anyone seen the Cove?
Anywho, we had fun going to a resort and just chillin on the beach. You buy a day pass once you're there (Melia Hotel).
