Thank you for your replies.
I have spoken to our Butler and he was happy to replace the items with something that did not remind us of hospital visits 😊
Another first world problem solved

Hi All,
We are traveling out of Budapest on the 5th of September ,with Uniworld would like to know how they are dealing with the problems caused by the low water levels .I know that conditions can change by the time we leave but I'd like to know what to expect .
Understand about boat swaps etc .
Any Uniworld travellers out there that can let us know?
Thanks

Thank you.
I will have to think about adding my travel dryer to the suitcase after all.
😀😀🛳🛳

Hi All,
Are the hairdryers in the suites the same old wall mounted ones or have they been up graded.
Should I add a dryer to my luggage ?
Thanks

I would add that the Hotels near the airport are away from anything other than the airport and in a semi industrial area nothing to do and no where to go that's isn't going to cost to get you to.The Hotels do have shuttle buses to and from airport terminals, don't know it they go into Paris centraland and not sure they could easily deal with 22 travelers at once. I would get yor TA to organise a Paris hotel for your arrival day with early book in and transfers from the airport and then the next day to the boat.
As for concerns about seniors and river cruises my sister and our 94 year old father were on Scenic last year from Basel to Amsterdam , he had a great time managed all the tours loved the whole trip. We three are booked on a cruise through the Greek Islands in November traveling form Australia so flying into Rome a couple of days before to get over the jet lag.
I wish you luck with your trip

Thanks everyone ,
We booked the Spirit because of the itinerary which is based around the Greek islands .
Realised we didn't have any idea how NCL works so started reading the cruise critic board to get some insider knowledge .
Knew if I had a question about anything that you would be able to answer it.
Thanks again

Hi I'm new to NCL we're booked for a Mediterranean cruise in November.
We have done a couple of Cunard Cruises and I am trying to work out the bonuses we received in a suite. I know there is Butler service does this include room service breakfast without extra cost? The mini bar is mentioned but is it free and topped up ? Do you choose what you want in it as on Cunard in Queens Grill? Is Bottled water supplied free and replenished? I have been reading the NCL board and can't find anything regarding these.
I would like to know what is included and what's not so that we don't have a large surprised when we pay our bill at the end of the cruise.
Any tips will be really helpful.
Thanking you all

Hi,
We were on the Queen Elizabeth last year and used the USB port an the TV as we do when in hotels
Gluten Free?
in Silversea
Posted
Hi , I am also a Coeliac we were on the Whisper in Alaska last year our first Silversea cruise but not our first cruise.I found knowledge from waitstaff a bit hit and miss.
At the start of the cruise I had a meeting with the Chief and was assured that there was no need to preorder as every Menus in all the restaurants would have many options available and that staff would be aware of my dietary requirements as all waitstaff have a IPad with details on it. I will say that I had no problems with what I ate and no issues with cross contamination .I did find it repetitive to have to explain at every meal that I was a coeliac only twice did staff members mention on seating us that they were aware of my dietary requirements .
Like “Port Power “ I automatically check that they have made note of Coeliac Gluten Free meal .
I found the Grill very difficult to eat at other than plain grilled meat or fish with a plain baked potato I was told by staff that nothing else was safe for me to eat. I did manage to get some butter for the potato .No offer of bread.😞 we only ate there once over our 12 days on board
I will say that we got the impression that a lot of the staff were new and were learning on their feet.
Our Butler was brilliant and arranged gluten free canapé’s some of which were made with gluten free water biscuits or wafer crackers ,which were missing from the restaurants.
Lucky we shared a table with the hotel manager one evening and by magic the crackers appeared in the restaurants when I needed them 🙂
My one big tip would be ask if you don’t like the options available they will do the best to prepare something. We dined in La Dame one night and I was told that the only dessert available to me was a fruit platter. This was beautifully served and very nice but not a dessert in my mind ( if it doesn’t have chocolate it isn’t dessert). Next time we dined there I asked if they could find me something more interesting the resulting dessert looked fantastic and tasted great but wasn’t on the menu
I will say that I always travel with some gluten free supplies with me but only had to use them when off the ship. The one booked excursion with included lunch did provide a very nice gluten free option but I was prepared just in case🙂
I hope this helps reassure you that you won’t starve on board 🤣
