If you are cruising on POA then No as it is NOT in Oahu on Friday night.
Not sure about other Cruise lines.

Sunset cruise has free booze and I think snacks. The snorkeling cruise had drinks for a cost after snorkeling not before and snacks. Fireworks cruise, booze has a cost but very reasonable when considering what drinks cost in Waikiki. They had a deal where you buy their shaker for $10 and refills are $3. So 4 drinks for $20 good luck finding that anywhere in Oahu.

To each his own. We enjoyed the back to back cruise and as a matter of fact we also did the snorkeling cruise as well. Swimming with sea turtles was awesome.
We also spent over $300 at Orchids for an overrated meal.
YMMV

You can actually see them down past Duke's restrant. Not sure how much further past as many hotels sit on the beach but Hilton sticks out into the ocean and launches them over the ocean so you could probably see then all the way to diamond head.

We decided on using https://sailholokai.com and booked the sunset cruise (open bar, alcohol included) followed by the fireworks cruise (not open bar but after first cruise should be good :-) ) . They pick you up on Waikiki Beach near the Outriggers hotel. Just a short walk from out hotel...
Oh and second cruise was $5 cheaper for repeat offenders. So no dinner but $100 per person for about 4 hours of sailing plus alcohol so win win in my book
;-p

Yes I found those and many others before I posted.
I was asking for a recommendation from someone who has actually done one.

My wife and I would like to do a Waikiki Friday fireworks dinner cruise.
We are staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort for a week before we catch the POA on Saturday so something that picks us up on the beach would be nice. Alcohol included or cheap is a bonus;p.
Any recommendations?

I'd spend some time in the Poipu Beach area, right on the way to Port Allen. There is a lovely state park beach there as well as another nice beach in front of the Sheraton Hotel. Someone mentioned The Beach House Restaurant for lunch - we thought that was our secret place! It's not a cheap, fast lunch - very good food, a little pricey, with a fantastic view of a perfect little bay. There's also Brennecke's Beach Broiler right at the Poipu Beach park - haven't been there in several years, so check reviews on TripAdvisor. Another option - you'll pass a small local market on the road from Kaloa to Poipu; stop and buy yourself picnic supplies and eat at the beach park.
Oh love the idea of a picnic lunch on a beach some where...

Oh cool looks like they finally released a gypsyguide for Kauai to the Google Play store. Not even on the website yet. Going to be using this on Maui and Oahu

Ajtravler66 thank you for the Port Allen to Napali Coast Dinner Cruise idea. Now my wife and I only need to figure out what to do from 10 till 2pm...
Any ideas on that side of the island would be greatly appreciated. We have a rental car so we can move around but don't want to wander around to much. This is the end of a 14 day vacation so just looking to chill last 2 days of POA
And no not doing a helicopter, just looking for a beach to snorkel and maybe a restrant for a light lunch.

We booked a tour with Island family tours. Can't wait. We are going to do snorkeling at 2 step and if weather crazy we can change to Kona tour.

My wife and I will be in Maui on the POA in June and we will be renting a car through DHCR on day one to site see and on day 2 we want to make the trek to see the Haleakalā Sunrise. Everything I am reading says that the trek takes 2.5 hours and that sunrise is around 530 but to get there before 430am.
Our thought is to enjoy day one site seeing and a nice lunch somewhere then a beach. Returning to the ship around 5pm for dinner and a short nap then leave around midnight to get the car and start the drive up the volcano. The park opens at 3am so if we are on the way by 1am we should be good.
The problem is, what do I do with the car. Lots of other posts made it clear that there is zero parking at the port and the only real option is to park at the airport. I don't see this as an option with our plans.
Have others made this trek and if so what was your plan and did it work out for you?
Another thought is to go out to dinner somewhere and find a place to park on the path to Haleakala for a few hours then wake up by 2am and finish the drive to the park and the top.
Thoughts?

Thank you everyone.
Now to figure out what we are doing there :-) ;p

Sorry, to clarify, we are going to be cruising the POA. I already reserved a car from DHCR. I believe Thrifty and others all run shuttles to the airport for pickup. So I was just trying to figure out where to park it overnight.
-
Sorry if this has been asked. I have seen lots of posts about the lack of parking at the port in Maui but I have not seen anything about KAUAI - Nawiliwili...
So the the question is
If we rent a car in KAUAI from the POA can we park at or near the port?
If not then where?

Parking in KAUAI - Nawiliwili (POA)
in Hawaii

It's well lit but check with your car rental company. We returned our car at 10pm and they drove us back to the ship free of charge. There shuttle service was done for the day as well. That way if all you plan to do is park it overnight and return it the next morning, you are not stuck with a second day charge and a parking fee.
