  1. I won’t ever book with Island Marketing again. We had an excursion booked in grand cayman with them and then they cancelled it saying the catamaran was out in dry dock when we had it booked. We saw the operator when we got to the port and guess what? Nothing was wrong with the boat. We ended up booking the excursion with someone else but they lied to us.

  2. I don't understand "on line check in opens"?? We only do the on line check in after final payment. There is no need to do it sooner. You only need to have it done the day before your cruise. There is NO rush to do this! You don't get anything special for doing it early.

You can pick check in times and dining times and all that without filling out all the forms for the on line check in. When you get your passport you'll have plenty of time to do all this!!

If you do it early you can get the early port check in time. I checked in for our cruise when it opened so I could select the earliest check in time. Now all that’s left is 1pm check in

  3. what is the earliest check in time you had? We are cruising in October and given a check in time of 1130 but that was the earliest option. What time will they let you in the building if you have the first check in time? We have cruised before and used to being on the ship by 1130 and not checking in at that time. I plan to get there about 1030 to get parked and luggage dropped off

  4. we are only wanting to go to Doctors cave Beach! Last time we were there 4 years ago we took the hop on hop off bus but they did not take us to Doctors cave! Instead we ended up at a restaurant that had a tiny strip of beach and they said we could eat and then swim. We didn’t go as I knew that was not Doctors cave although they insisted it was. We ended up walking and some locals took us to a free beach. It was ok but I’d rather go to Doctors cave and it actually really be where I want to be

  5. And you are the reason why some of these people are not getting everything they deserve because there are people contrary to your popular belief that deserve to be tipped that you NEVER see and because you removed your tips they are now not getting what is due to them

IMO anyone who removes tips for anything other than bad service is just being cheap and trying to get out of paying what they should be paying

I am not being cheap but I am not these peoples employer carnival is. Carnival should be paying their wages especially if all they are doing is cleaning the deck or washing windows. When I go to a hotel or even resort I don’t tip the front desk clerk so why should I on a cruise. I do tip the waiters in the MDR and the room stewards. I also tip the counselors in camp carnival that watch my children. When I eat at a buffet I don’t tip the people who put food on my plate. I tip my server.

  6. You talk about the dining staff but the reason we leave auto-tips on is to ensure the "behind the scenes" folks get their share. I've never seen a passenger tip the person who vacuums the carpet at 2:00AM and I've never seen anyone tip the guys who wash down the decks early every morning, the folks who do the laundry. There are a whole bunch of people who work toward making your cruise memorable but never see or interact with. Auto-tips take care of them.

When people claim they pay cash as they go they are essentially screwing a whole bunch of folks who deserve to be paid over and above what the cruise lines pay them.

That is their job. It’s not my responsibility to pay those that clean the deck that is carnivals job. I get paid to do my job but I don’t get tipped to do it. With that being said we remove the auto tips and pay as we go to those that deserve it.

  7. i got an email for an upgrade from our inside to a balcony for $638. I’m thinking it’s going to be some big savings. We don’t cruise til October. Yeah it will only save $8 if I were to book the same room today. Yeah not happening. Try again Carnival

  8. So long as your kid doesn't get sick much, you can get away with it until 3rd grade or so. Once they get into middle and high school, it's more of a problem. I have one in special Ed with a lot of health issues so I can't push it, plus he needs to keep his routine anyway. My older one is in a lot of advanced classes so she can't miss class either.

For 3 cruises I took my kids out of school. But next year he's in 4th grade so we decided to just go during fall break. We like it when there are less kids
