  1. Hi,

Hopefully someone can help me here as the Miami Airport website isn't great in my opinion.

    I will arrive at Miami Airport in 3 weeks time with a 4 year-old and a 1 year-old.

Will I need to pre-book a taxi before arrival as they will both need car seats and we won't have them with us.

    Any advice appreciated.

    John.

  4. Just to confirm, yes my final payment date is Sept 28th.

Perhaps it's different in the US.

The point I'm stressing is that my American family had to book via the US version of the NCL website.

So in terms of a group why should what country people are from affect the idea of them being part of a group. They very much are.

The amount of money I stand to be reimbursed is quite big so I will try my best to plead my case regardless.

  5. You will have to excuse me but I am not familiar with term at final payment, what do you mean by this?

In response to the above, I'm not too fussed what people may or may not try to do to hoodwink cruise lines. Was more interested too hear did people have any experience of such a situation when travelling as a group previously. Or why NCL would regard family living in the USA as separate to our group.

    Thanks.

Edit: final date my cruise has to be fully paid by is 28th September 2018.

  6. I have an existing group booking for the Getaway in October.

I was advised that should there be 8 cabins booked I, as group leader, would benefit from a significant lump sum reimbursement on the cruise.

My issue is that we have 7 cabins booked from Ireland. 2 more cabins have been booked your family living in America.

Obviously they could only book using the US version of the site and is the European version and NCL have stated that they are not acknowledged as part of our group as a result.

Is this usual policy? It seems a little harsh as neither our relatives or ourselves had any other option but to book on our respective NCL sites.

They are very much part of our travelling party.

Is there anything I can do?

    Advice appreciated, John.

  7. Again thank you for your thoughts.

They originall had the drinks package, it didnt carry over during cabin change. They were never advised of this. Paid €235 extra the other day to have it added.

A litre bottle of water per day was the 2nd 'pwrk' that was added to their booking without them knowing.

They are in a balcony cabin now like myself.

But whereas my 2nd package included is $200 onboard spend they have water!

  8. Thanks so much for your feedback folks.

We actually booked this 20 months out, so in February 2017, before Premium All Inclusive came onstream.

I am definitely goin to fight my corner on this matter.

Surely during a cabin change phonecall youd b advised of these matters.

  9. hi everybody,

I have had a good look around and can't see a suitable thread to ask a question regarding a cabin change.

I hope somebody with more cruise experience than I might be able to offer advice.

I am based in Ireland and will be in a group of 22 on the Getaway this October. I am sort of the unofficial trip organiser.

    My concern is this:

Both my parents and a friend have changed their cabins from an inside to a balcony cabin. On making the change neither were advised that the alcoholic beverage package wouldn't carry over. On 1 room booking it did but not on my parents. My parents, a little perplexed, agreed to pay an additional €235 yesterday to have it attached to their room. I feel it was unreasonable that this wasn't mentioned to them at. The time of making the cabin change a few months ago.

Additionally, my parents 2nd 'add-on' is a bottle of water per day for their cabin!!! They never requested this and were never told they were getting that.

My friend, although making the same type cabin change, was given 250 minutes internet package. They don't want it and never asked for it, neither were they advised this would be their 2nd add on. This doesn't seem fair on NCL part and they are stubbornly sticking to the party line that it is not possible in either case to swap with any other add on. The confusion seems to stem from the fact that we booked prior to NCL rollout of Premium All-Inclusive. So when the cabin change was done that was the selling method in place here in Europe.

Is there anything I can don this matter? I do apologise for the long winded nature of this post.

    Any advice appreciated.

    John.

  10. Also check out booking it directly from Atlantis. We once came out cheaper booking with the cruise, another time CS was cheaper, even with taxes and fees.

Thanks for quick reply. Ship working out the best option for me.

  11. I am looking at Saturday 3rd November. And although the cruise excursion is expensive for 2Adults and 2Children the Comfort Suites works out much the same as they are charging a lot of extras that are excluded from the original price upon booking, see below:

    • Taxes and service charges: 7.50 % VAT is excluded. 10.75 % City tax is excluded. US$ 27.53 Property service charge per person per night is excluded.

This makes it much of a muchness so think will have to go with the cruises excursion price, unfortunately!

  12. CS working out expensive for my party due to the high additional taxes. I know the Atlantis has a list of its partners, of which comfort suites is 1 but do any of you know of other hotels in the area besides the CS which if booked allow access to Atlantis free of charge?

I’m doing my research here but somebody in the know might save me time :)

  13. I've narrowed it down as Delta finish operations prior to month of travel from Shannon. Virgin Atlantic involves London stop and don't codeshare with Aer Lingus so should we have problems Shannon to London we would be in serious bother. BA and United are only 2 viable options. Shannon is 15m drive and we have small children in group so we are looking only at Shannon as a departure point.

I understand what your saying as regards flights and how the airlines create ticket prices.

Just will have to keep a close watch.

  14. Going to take the excellent advice given on here.

I will plan our own schedule and advise others of it - they can then choose to do as they please. If it turns out that they wish to do same (dates, hotels etc...) then a Group Booking Re flights might still work. Thank you.

We are from Ireland so are not overly familiar with the area we will be visiting, although my wife and I have been. It is close family who will travel with us, parents and siblings and they are happy to follow our lead. Air miles aren't relevant to us. What will be more important with children included is flight times and stopovers. Going via NYC looks suitable for this reason.
