  1. We sailed in September to Bermuda. We had to take multiple tests to get on the ship. The antigen rapid test at CVS was free then. We now are going to a private company for the same test for $85 pp. cost of doing business.

  2. This has been an issue for NCL for some of us. I was on the Breakaway in September.  Took several attempts to get confirmation of the credit before sailing.  When we were on board, no credit. We had to lodge an inquiry at the front desk and finally got the credit.

now I am going through the same thing for my March cruise.  Submitted once.  A week passed and emailed a follow-up.  I am ready to sell my shares.  When it gets to even, I am out. Not worth it.

  3. What a pain if true.  I was on the first Breakaway sailing to Bermuda on Sept 26 th. The PCR requirement cost us an extra $500 plus a lot of headaches.

I really hope this is not going to be a mandate to get on the ship. I am booked on the Getaway and really don’t want to go through that again.

  4. I wonder what happened. As noted above, the NCL brand was North South.  Not bad. We had them a few times and was in the drink package. Now the NCL brand is East West. I am betting the wine is exactly the same.  Very easy to print a new label.  We were on the Breakaway in September and would not order them because of the price.

It’s all about profit. Maybe their costs went up because not enough volume?  Maybe people liked them so they felt they could charge more?  Who knows.

We thought they were “fine” but not enough for an up charge.

Let’s see what is left to order from the drink package on our next cruise in March…

We had mentioned the A/C issue to Monica the concierge on day 1.  She then asked us every day how it was and if it was fixed.  It was never fixed and by day 5 we were done trying.  Monica was very nice and was truly was trying to fix the problem that was beyond her control.  She made trips to our room to see for herself and even came into our room with and officer(maybe an engineer?) one afternoon.  She gave us $400 OBC which was a nice gesture but it really did not help the situation.  Losing the living room part of our room put a damper on the whole 2 bedroom experience.

Alan the Maitre D approached us in the courtyard the second day and said that he knew what had happened(we never said anything the night before).  He was blunt and not trying to make excuses and wanted us to know that he would make sure that these things did not happen again.  He was an extremely nice and funny guy but was not happy with the way his operation was handled that evening.

We love Monica. She was our concierge a couple of years ago on the Gem (I think). Just amazing service.
