  1. Sid, this was just an awesome ride! I can't believe I read through 39 pages, but I felt compelled to do so through your funny, satirical, food pOrn and Tequila adventure. And I hate Tequila (Whiskey or Bourbon guy), but as soooo many have stated you did a great job of keeping us wanted to know what you were eating or drinking next. Great Job and I will also be one of those that will continue to see your adventures going forward.

  2. We are booked in a cloud 9 spa balcony (on deck 11) in January. I just read that you can smell eucalyptus at the spa? Can you smell it near the rooms on deck 11 and Is it through out all the spa sauna rooms? And therapy pool? My husband is allergic to eucalyptus [emoji21]and I am slightly concerned it will bother him in the hall just going to our room, and if he will be able to use the spa at all? Really hoping this isn't a really expensive oopsie, you can't use the spa you just paid extra for.

Also just wondering if you get the same question about the room cleaning am or pm in the spa rooms? Does the more expensive rooms get better service? Shouldn't say better, because we have never had bad service. It honestly doesn't matter to us. Once a day is fine. As long as I get ice twice a day in good. Just curious. Thanks in advance.

DW and I were on the Magic last year and also had a Spa room on Deck 12. We could not smell Eucalyptus in the hallway or in certain areas of the spa. Once you enter the hot bed room this spa had 2 steam rooms and one was Eucalyptus and the other was a very light smell. Can't real remember if the smell was over powering in the spa rooms.

As far as service it was just like any other room, nothing special. We had twice a day service when we wanted it. Other times DW would put the do not disturb out and we had no issues with them coming in and doing anything during those times.

Hope this help and of course this is only our opinion or what we recall. We enjoyed being down the hall to the spa and hope you do as well:)

  3. I have been thinking about joining AARP so what's the benefit of the gift cards. Thanks

You get them at a 10% discount. So the $500 one is $450 and the $100 is $90. You do have to also use points you can get by joining AARP, taking quizzes, watching videos, reading articles and they also send emails that have code words that you can use to accumulate 150 points each time you sign in and use it. Hope this helps.

  4. The cabin was perfect temperature. They each have individual units now so they are very efficient at keeping it cool. The forward parts of the balconies are open to where other people can look down.

    Thanks and we cannot wait!

  5. We were in Extended Aft Balcony 7456. It was great.

DW and I are in this cabin in Sept. How was the balcony? We heard that is was only partially covered and if that is the case, did the room get warmer than a normal room? Thanks for any and all feedback on this:)

  6. It appears that your cabin is also adjoining with cabin E38. From my experience, I'd wager that you'll hear more noise from the cabin next door, through that uninsulated door, than you will from the theater. ;)

    "SKY"

This is exactly right. We heard more noise from the next door cabin during the morning than we did from the bar area. At night, it was loud at times but nothing that a noise machine, ear plugs, a day of drinking or sleeping aids couldn't fix:)

  7. I'm in CT, close to the MA border. The only store near me in that list is Lowes, but they didn't have any. I've read the paragraph posted above on Carnivals site but it mentions about 10 stores out of the 9000. They don't have an actual list somewhere?

Do you live by a Shaws or a Stars Market? Both are owned by Albertsons and they should have them.

  8. My boyfriend have a pancreas problems and he don't drink, but I would like to buy the cheers program but I read that we both have to buy it? That's true? Any recommendations please?

Yes unfortunately that is true at this time.:( There is no work around with this program other than ordering a bottle for you to be delivered to the room.

  9. Correct. The Carnival transfer wasn't the problem, after all, mix ups do happen. The problem was flying in the same day. Never a smart idea.

You know, we have done this several times and never had a problem (6 times in fact). We arrived in Miami with hours to go to, so that truly was not an issue. The issue to us was the chaos and being told hurry or else when it was their bus we choose and paid to take.

As it had been stated a couple of times, not the best choice. But on the other hand, we had taken the Carnival shuttle every time and never had a problem....until this one.

We do see your point about flying in the same day and having airline issues but flying from Phx is never an issue when it comes to weather issues:-)

  10. I thought when you booked through carnival, they waited, 3rd party vendor or not

Even though, they did wait, they were telling us and the Carnival rep on the bus, they were not going to wait. We were scheduled to be gone by 4pm and thank goodness they waited.

  11. Sounds like you booked a shuttle thru Carnival and paid Carnival, so the 3rd party vendor had to have a contract with carnival, not you. Is that correct?

That is correct. Carnival said they are paid by them, but there not a Carnival representative.

  12. Last year my DW and I were sailing out of Miami onboard the Glory. We live in Az and have done the same day flights, numerous times without a problem. This day would been no different!

We arrived in Miami around 1 or so, got our bags and headed to see the Carnival agent. We checked in and was told to sit in this one area and they would come get us when the bus arrived. It was us, another couple and a family of 4, all waiting for our cruise.

About an hour had gone by and we all started to get concerned. As we were going to talk with the agent, she was getting her stuff ready to leave and we think, she kind of forgot about us.

We asked where our bus was and her answer was "I'm not sure, let me call". After a couple of minutes she told us they could not find our driver!?! She called again and told us "he was on his way and to follow her". After another 20 minutes or so, he finally showed up.

We were all told to hurry get on the bus because the ship will not wait, if we were late. The goodness we were finally heading to the boat....or so we thought!

The agent was on the phone with the boat and they kept telling her, we needed to hurry. This would have not have been a problem, until the driver showed up at Fort Lauderdale port and was told we were at the wrong port. At this point tempers were becoming very short because we were all being told to get to Miami or else we're being left behind.

Thank god for cell phones because everyone of us were on the phone with Carnival complaining that we are not missing this boat because of our Carnival drivers fault. At this point we were all told these drivers are a 3rd party and do not work for Carnival, so technically it would not be their fault. At about 4:15, we showed up and the boat was still there, however we were told to run or we would be left behind!

Even though this day started off so bad, we rebounded nicely and had a great cruise:)

Anyone else have a story to tell?

  13. DW and I are sailing Monday on the Inspiration and are flying in early. We were thinking about doing the tour on the Queen Mary, since she is next door. Has anyone done this tour and is it worth it. My DW was stationed in England for a bit and is a huge Diane fan and it looks like the have an exhibit.

    Thanks for any help
