below is a description in case the titles are different on other cruise lines!

THIS TOUR IS OPERATED BY A TOUR OPERATOR THAT HAS BEEN THIRD-PARTY VERIFIED TO AN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED SUSTAINABILITY STANDARD.
  2. I know that this question has been asked multiple times but I have not been able to find a 2018 post with this question! I have only sailed on carnival so any clarification would be great.

We can bring one bottle of wine (each person max 2 for stateroom) -- but what about a case of water/soda?

Can someone confirm what we can bring as far as those go?

    Thank you in advance!

  3. All of those services available to/from Sydney Airport, however, we always use the Airport Train which goes Circular Quay in about 18 minutes.. It is a short walk from station to the Overseas Passenger Terminal from where RCI sail..

Sue and Phil (currently in USA)

also, can you purchase tickets when we land or does it have to be in advance? Sorry this is our first trip to Australia and we are trying now to wing everything !

  4. If you have PayPal credit, you can order Carnival Gift Cards from PayPal Digital Gifts on eBay and any purchase over $100 qualifies for 6 months no payments, no interest. I don't normally recommend putting things on credit, but this is a way to get the funds you need quickly and without additional cost. Just make sure you pay it off otherwise the interest rate is insane.

This will probably be the best solution at this point. If you know you can pay it off before the 6 months.

  5. Were actually honeymooning on rccl in July. So idk what I'd do with that. We can only travel when my son is out of school. But we will see what happens this week. I'm giving them till Monday to tell me the decision. If I can make a partial payment on the due dat then pay the rest on my next payday I will see if I can pay for mom if they won't cancel. If she can come up with some I'll pay the rest. I need a vacation!!!!!

AHH gotcha. Well there is a FB page( i know im not supposed to talk about that but youre in a crisis and need all the info you can get lol) that is dedicated to single travelers... pretty much you find a "roommate".. I know that going alone isn't ideal, BUT you will still have a great time!

  6. I did contact carnival this morning to verify and the rep said that if I wanted to rebook I'd have to pay out another 50$ for a administrative fee . This would not go towards the price of when I wanted to rebook. She also let me know I need to decide before final payment or I'd really be hurting because they would end up charging me something else to change. If they end up bailing I would be incredibly upset. I'm already at my wits ending with this wedding. Eloping is sounding mighty nice right about now.

my suggestion would be to take that offer! Go ahead and pay the 50$ and book a cruise for next year WITH your new husband? That gives you time to pay monthly on it or however is easiest for you. If you don't have a honeymoon plan yet that would be a good option!

I am sorry everyone is bailing, but in the long run everything will workout.

  7. thank you for that faithfulraider. sorry for the trouble you went thru, but appreciate you getting back and letting us all know how you made out. would you mind posting that screen shot for me. i am not on the social media website and tried to find that info on the internet, without sucess. i think i would like to try to get the reduced price onboard, if for nothing else than principle. i too was told we could, but carnival rep said they couldn't put it in writing for me. TIA

since we aren't allowed to talk about that social media page, if you want to email me ill send you the screenshot myself!

or give me your email and I can send it straight to you

  8. Suggestions + advice needed for keeping your room organized and clutter free**

I have been on several week long cruises and know how easy it is to cover any counter top space. Next month I will be on a 15 day cruise and would love to know what other people do in order to keep it as clutter free as possible! The only one idea I have came across is the over the door shoe hanger for the bathroom...but from my understanding has several fire restrictions.

Anyways, if you have anything you'd like to add it would be greatly appreciated!

  9. Just to provide a different opinion than others. ;-) On our last trip in 2014 on the POA, based on the advice I found here on CC, we rented cars in each port. I do agree that it is the most cost effective way to see the islands (we were 2 couples) and I did like not having to get on and off 50 passenger buses and be at the whim of others. That said, we did find it a little stressful with directions (my GPS did not always take us to the right location) and inconvenient waiting for the shuttle buses to the airports (in one port they would only allow the renter to board the bus since there were a lot of people waiting, thus then you had to make a trip back to the port to pick up the rest of the group), parking was not always easy, and traffic made us nervous at times due to concerns we wouldn't make it back on time (got behind an accident on Kauai). Also in some ports I think we may have enjoyed some history or commentary about what we were seeing beyond what we read in the guidebooks and brochures.

On our upcoming LA round trip we plan on taking taxi's in Honolulu (to Diamond Head, then to Pearl Harbor), have booked small group tours in Hilo and Maui, a private driver/tour in Kauai, and a ship's tour for Ensenada. When I asked my husband and travel companions if they wanted to do the car rental thing again they all said "NO!".

Everyone has their own motives and tolerances, so only you know what is right for you! I just wanted to offer up a different experience.

ill be going on the LA Roundtrip in October-- Anyways, we are planning on taking a taxi to Pearl Harbor... Do you know how far it is from the port & what I should expect to pay? It seems that Honolulu has the most expensive car rental rate. We are still in trying to plan last minute things for the island!!
