  1. We got an upgrade on the Christmas and New year cruise last year, it was our golden anniversary and we were asked if we would like to move into a suite.  It was such a treat and we were very grateful,  so impressed with Saga.

  2. After much research and debate, we have cancelled the bus and booked the train, we were worried about someone else testing positive at the port, and all other passengers on bus denied boarding, no matter how careful we have been for the 2 weeks prior to the holiday.  We are having to send the luggage on ahead to ship as my husband is blind and it’s very difficult to manage changing trains with cases.  That’s why we like the bus it’s less stressful for us.

  3. Hi has anyone used the coach lately to Southampton, we are worried that if there are any covid cases on the coach, as testing is at port, will the whole coach be denied boarding. I know this has been the case in the past.  Just not sure if it would be prudent to get the train down.

  4. Yes we are also on the 6th January cruise,  if it sails we will be on it- testing allowing, double vax and boosted -  it would be disappointing not to get off in the Canaries, but it’s out of our hands.  So will try to go with the flow and have a fabulous time .

  5. Would be great if we had some speakers with it being sea days.  A few years ago we were on Cunard and one of the speakers was a retired cricketer, ( I am not a sports fan ) but he was brilliant, so funny and hugely entertaining.

  6. Hi, does anyone know if they do renewal of vows on the spirit of discovery in 2022, it will be our golden wedding anniversary during our cruise.  If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. Many thanks.

  7. Thank you our preferred time is about 8.00 so that is perfect.  We would never turn up at the very last minute we would always consider staff who l think would all agree work very hard and long hours.

  8. Does anyone have a copy of the daily program for the Spirit of Discovery, we are trying to get a little more information about the daily things to do before we make our decision on bookong.  Many thanks

  9. My husband is severely visually impaired, so I have to seat him then do all the runs for both of us, so a tray does hep me.  It’s only lunch time as we prefer a lighter lunch.

  10. I love dressing up, makes a lovely change from walking the dog clothes and gardening.  I would be very upset if someone thought it appropriate to laugh at my husband and myself for wearing formal clothes, which is our choice.  There are so many cruise lines which have various degrees of dress codes so please leave codes alone for those of us who try to choose lines that still have formal nights.  Each to there own, and I would never I hope be disrespectful to those who’s choices are not mine.
