  1. I would like to know if I have to pay for a tour for entering this area because it seems like the Rainforest Sanctuary is private property, isn't it? I searched every forum and was able to read the posts of people who bought a tour. My main purpose to go there is to see bears. I don't need any guides because I am not an English speaker. So far I found out that the taxi will take us to Herring Cove, which is where the Rainforest Sanctuary is located, at $75 for a round trip. I have no idea if we can enter without paying for a tour after that.

  2. Every cruise ship sells excursions at the ports of call, but they are very expensive. The cruise ship company says we should buy from the ship because they guarantee our excursion. For example, if we couldn't come back to the ship on time because of some excursion trip delay, they will get us back to the ship at their expense. There are many similar excursions offered at the ports that are not sold from the cruise ship for much less money. I wonder how many people feel fine about buying excursions from the local tour groups at the ports of call. We are thinking of going on the Glacier Point Wilderness Safari in Skagway.
