Just booked our Sailabration Cruise on the Panorama sailing Mar 5, 2022,  Only Balcony cabins I could get were on deck 2 so am assuming its a Cove.

It is, unless it's an aft Family Harbour cabin.

I also booked a cove balcony on Panorama for this special trip. But there were other balconies available when I booked.

I have used my CIBC pre-paid USD VISA to pay for excursions and pre/post cruise transportation with no problems....done on-line.

Our actual cruise has been put on our CDN VISA, and had the Carnival agent convert the amount to CDN funds, to save that way....next time I will try to pay for the whole cruise on our pre-paid USD VISA.

Did u try to pay on your Carnival account on-line or by phone?

if it was by phone, did u mention it was a pre-paid VISA?  If that was the case, call back and don’t say anything about pre-paid....just say my VISA.

I’ve worked in banking for many years and found many vendors don’t think they can process these pre-paid VISA cards from Canada....it’s usually a matter of “don’t tell the vendor and everything works as it should”.

I did not tell them it was a prepaid. It was done on line but they wanted an address and I am guessing the canadian address messed it up, but not sure. Thanks for the help!

  3. I have a cruise booked and tried to pay the gratuities with a pre paid USD Visa. Unfortunately Carnival will not accept it. I do not want to pay the 2.5% fee my CDN Visa charges for foreign transactions. Neither Carnival, nor my TA (based in the US) seem to be able to help.

What do you use to pay your Carnival cruises with?

  4. I've posted these before, but always enjoy looking at the older pictures from the Mardi Gras. These are from our cruise on her in 1984.

    Skeet Shooting off the stern...

My wife's nightgown (the stewards used to lay out my wife's nightgown for her...along with a rose). Some of them would go so far as to shape the nightgown into a flower (this was prior to the towel animals). I'm sure most women would highly object to this practice today.

I really wish I had been cruising back when you could shoot skeet off the stern of the ship.

  5. Me too.

One time we were playing that game and I happened to be the team captain for the women. The question put to me was "Name the movie that has this for a tagline: 'There can be only one.' ". I guess the host didn't expect me to know it but I didn't even have to poll the women. I've seen that movie 84,000 times as it's one of my favorites. :D

I would have gotten that one right off, too. Huge fan of the movies and tv series, as well as the music (Queen was a great choice).

  6. My boyfriend and I sailed the Crown on New Year's and his favorite martini was "From Russia With Love". We cannot remember what the ingredients in it were. Anybody know? Anybody cruising soon and can find out and let us know? We'd love to recreate one here at home! Thanks all!
I bought a set of playing cards that have all the recipes served on the ships. I will look for it in the next couple of days and see if it has the recipe.

  7. really had me laughing out loud. I play craps and usually have a lot of downs and some ups. I have broken even and actually came out ahead once. All in Vegas. I know my limits though and love that there are so many other things to do on the cruise. But have to gamble some or it isn't a vacation for me.
Except for the craps, this is me. Long time Vegas visitor before discovering cruising. I hate that the casinos are closed on port days. lol

  8. We recently found one of the old style horizontal layout/format Princess “Cafe Selects” coffees cards from a voyage many years ago with several punches remaining. I’m not referring to the ones that were just replaced by the latest ones which have an expiration date.

Anyone know if the baristas on Princess ships will recognize them and still accept them for specialty coffee? I realize they should based on the old Princess promise but was hoping someone recently used one and could confirm it was not an issue.

Best bet is to call Princess and ask. Maybe it can be traded in for a new one, as the chance of the staff recognising it is slim.

  9. We have done a b2b before and was looking to do it again in 2020 on the Magic but nothing available after the first leg going out on our return day. For some reason the Magic doesn't go out again until the 15th and we get back the 9th. There is a cruise out of Miami on the Conquest which we really like which would be the first part of two weeks. Was wondering how difficult it s to get from port of Miami to port of Ft Lauderdale. I'm sure it's done all the time but curious of the time it takes for the most part and easiest transportation. Thanks in advance for any info.
Sorry I can not answer your question but wanted you to know that I understand what you are asking. You can google the distance and it will give you the driving time.

  10. It seems most that linger until the end have their own vehicles in port. How long do the shuttles hang around? I always book a later flight and have no reason to hurry off (but always have previously) but worry about missing the last shuttle to the airport.
