  1. I just sailed the PG for the first time in January. I had sailed 22 other cruises, mainly in the Caribbean and Mexico. As a person who works in the travel industry, I can tell you that this ship has an absolutely amazing staff. We went in with zero expectations, as we booked last minute, and didn't do much research... and, we have already booked to return next year! Yes, it's an older, smaller ship, with less to offer than those other ships. But, you can't beat the service and the price for all that is included. We can't wait to return. Oh, and we are late 30's, some of the younger crowd on-board, and we made a ton of new friends!!

  2. I just returned on the 1/21 sailing and did the day pass at the IC. I really wasn't impressed with the property. I think if I returned I would go to the Hilton, or take the trip out to the Sofitel.

Just didn't have any charm, and the food wasn't good at all-- plus they had stupid towel cards, and no service at the pool or beach. The lagoon area in front of the Bungalows is nice, but the beach area is overrun by a marina with many boats. I was invited by the sales team, as I work in the travel industry, so I didn't pay for this-- but, I still would have preferred to go elsewhere. :(

  3. I just flew out this past Saturday on the 11:59 ATN Flight to LAX. the 11pm was LAX- Paris.

Check in lines were the same for each. We choose to get in quite early, we were told three flights coming in and out that night could cause things to be quite busy. We waited about an hour to check-in, which seemed to be the average. Each flight had its own check-in line, so you are not waiting with both flights.

Airport as hot, humid and uncomfortable... is what it is. It's under construction.

Our flight was almost full at 11:59.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Just returned from the 21st-28th sailing. It started off a bit rough- heavy turbulence to Papeete, rain all day at the Intercontinental and than barely getting out of port on Saturday night... the ship started rocking and rolling like nothing I've ever experienced at 1:30am when the late flight finally arrived. Heard we were lucky to get out of the port that night. Seems the airport flooded and closed for the weekend causing many travel problems throughout the island.

We arrived in Huahine the next morning, thankful to stop sailing, and thankful for sunshine which stayed with us the rest of the week!

Unfortunately, the seas weren't as forgiving and it was terrible that night- missed Captains night and Dinner- many were sea sick.

After our amazing day in Taha'a, things were on the up and up.

We had an amazing week, visited some amazing resorts, and experienced some great excursions.

Ship is surely older and small, we are glad we choose the Balcony cabin to have the outside space. Found the rooms to be really small and what's with the tub shower? Honestly, just not the easiest to use in crazy seas!

The staff is what makes this ship so special. Sure there could be some upgrades to the ship, but we were overall very pleased with the food and the service is just amazing.

Thanks for all the great information on this site. We had a wonderful trip.

Had the old Air Tahiti Plane on the way out, newer one on the way back so we saw the difference in the two. A shame their planes are so old, and their entire process is just backwards. We would probably try to use Air France if we ever went back.

  5. The Food

Huge, huge improvement from past cruises.

Love Chef Stefan Berndt's food. Wonderful flavours and perfectly cooked whether it be steak or scallops. The plating is also excellent.

Had a short chat with this almost shy, unassuming chef , who certainly has the touch, today. He introduces new dishes one at a time so his staff can perfect them. He has 20 years experience on cruise ships but enjoys the smaller more personal ships like the PG.

I will be getting a copy of menus of the 7 day cruise so give me your address if you want me to scan and send them when I return.

Slightly heavy croissant and breakfast pastries is my only negative comment about the food.

We will be on the sailing next week! See you there.

  6. Keep telling yourself as your on that long flight that you will soon be in paradise. Are you going straight from Delaware to PPT or are you doing a layover in LA? Many who come from the east coast do a layover in LA.

Yes, we will keep telling ourselves that for sure!

We are flying to LAX (a little over 5 Hrs), and have a decent layover to stretch our legs.

  7. I'll be on the 1/21/17 sailing, and was wondering what everyone has enjoyed while in Moorea? We have the ATV's up Mt Belvedere scheduled for day 2-- and really aren't super touristy, but would do a tour of the Island with the right person. We'd love to see Beaches, look-outs and some local fun spots (bars/restaurants)

    Thank you!!

  8. OnweGo-

I'm on the same cruise itinerary sailing this January... I was wondering the same!

    Huahine-Day pass to Hotel Lapita

    Ta'ha- Motu

Bora Bora- Lagoon Excursion w/Maohi Nui (rays and sharks)

    Moorea- ATV Tour

Has anyone done a Day Pass to a resort in Bora Bora or Moorea? I work in the travel industry, and would love to see some OWB.. What about Bloody Mary's- has anyone visited?

Renting the car sounds fun-- what did you see/do?

We had B749 last June on the Crown, it was awesome! The sound of the Wake was amazing, and you wouldn't hear a vent even it was there? Maybe when in port, but who's in the room then anyway? Don't let little things like this stop you, the rooms back there are great. I hope one day we can get another one.

It is extremely private, and great pics pulling into port too!

  10. On VOS in may this year, my boyfriend and I were on one of the glass elevators form the promenade to our stateroom floor. It was just a gentleman and the two of us until it hit the next stop... a bunch of people hopped in and we took off. The man that was standing in the back left a very loud fart go, and we all had to keep quiet as if nothing happened until the next stop when he got off! Of course he acted like nothing happened, until he did it one more time shifting through the crowd leaving the elevator. We all broke into great laughter when the doors shut!

He had made quite a name for himself for the rest of the week with the people he shared that elevator with.:)
