Heya all, so RoyalUp called today and admitted this was a mistake and should never of happened. The cabin we bid on was sold out and they automatically assumed we wanted a balcony.
So they have refunded us, moved us back to our original room and a gesture of goodwill added to our OB account.
Thank you to all the helpful people who suggested ideas we ended up getting through Twitter to them.

I have just read the terms and conditions and it doesn’t say anywhere about assigning another category. It states if the bid is accepted you will get the cabin you have bided for.

So in our email we was told we won the bid for a Ultra spacious ocean view, not a balcony that’s what I’m asking has anyone had this before

We’ve had balcony’s before. The point I’m making is if I wanted a balcony I would of bid on one, and when I booked it was the same price as the room I booked. I’m not asking if I’m lucky to have a balcony, I’m asking if anyone has experienced this before, I’m annoyed that I haven’t received the room I bid for so won’t consider myself lucky.

So we are cruising on Wonder in 2 days time. We originally had a Central Park view interior, got a RoyalUp invitation so bid on a Ultra Spacious Ocean View, received an email today saying we had won the bid and got the room. When I’ve logged in we have been given a Balcony room, called royal who confirmed this and said they cannot assist as it was done by RoyalUp.
Has anyone had an experience like this before?
We purposely didn’t book a balcony due to travelling with a toddler and not wanting the risk.
Is it likely when we get to the dock they will have the correct room?
I have emailed RoyalUp but being a Friday two days before our cruise I doubt I will get a reply. -

Good morning cruisers,
It’s been a few years since we cruised Royal and last time had the deluxe package included. Now we have kids so won’t be drinking anywhere near enough to justify the Deluxe package so are looking at getting the Classic Soda Package but have one question.
with the soda package you obviously get the freestyle refillable cups to use at the machines but can I order a soda at a bar with the package or at dinner rather then always having to use the machines and get it in a normal glass?

Still not been able to get through to anyone, but no surprise due to everything that is happening. We haven't prebooked anything so still none the wiser, but hey money is money and my credit card was happy for the extra payment, thanks anyway guys

Afternoon all,
So today I had my credit card statement through and had a $100 credit from NCL onto my card. Have tried to ring NCL but have been on hold a long time, just wondering if anyone has any idea what it would be for or if you have had something similar. We are due to cruise February, checked our cruise still shown as the same price just a bit confused as to what it is. (Not complaining free money is always good)

Just wondering if anyone is going on Anthem any time in the near future, when we was onboard they had ran out of the Christmas Ornament. Would anyone be willing to purchase me one and I will send you the money for it and any postage costs? I know its a long shot but the wife wont let me book another cruise just to try again

Its a £35 fee if the cruise is less money then your current booking, or if it is more the difference, I literally did it two weeks ago with no issues :)

Maybe im being an idiot but I cant seem to see Le Bistro on the deck plans (using mobile), if its true I feel thats a loss for sure.

From LGW you could take the national express coach to Victoria Station and get an uber to your hotel from the station, National express is very cheap and runs every 20 minutes I think. Also you have the Gatwick Express train which goes from Gatwick station to London Victoria station again this is easy enough, I have done it with luggage and it isnt a struggle.
From London to Southampton again the train from Waterloo goes direct to Southampton Central and then get a taxi which is about a 5 minute trip.
Need any tips or hints drop me a message born and bred londoner now living just outside Southampton so will try and help out

Me personally I wouldn't pay $650 for the upgrade to Spa Balcony from Balcony , if you really want to use the spa purchase the passes online before you cruise, will be cheaper then getting a spa room (not really any extras in the room)
I'm not to sure about the upgrade prices when it comes to the upgrade scheme, we used to us a T/A who never signed up to it so have only ever had one offer sent to us.

Yes but it didn’t receive an upgrade, I bid on RoyalUp which you pay for. So I agree if your happy with your cabin mark no upgrade, but in future We would use RoyalUp as they admitted this was a fault and resolved it. So it hasn’t put us off
