We will be in Ashdod in October and the ship,leaves at 1400. There is a shuttle into Ashdod city. We would like to see Jaffa and wonder if it is feasible to DIY via a taxi or do you have other suggestions? Would we be better with a tour??We will have been to Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Masada and the Dead Sea. Thanks in advance for your help

We are in Warnemunde on a Monday and Schwerin Castle is closed. Is it still worth going to Schwerin or suggestions please. We would like to explore Warnemunde and Rostock. Also helpful train information would be appreciated. The ship is there for a long day but we do not want to spend more than an Hour on train journeys each way. Thanks for help.

Can anyone recommend a private guide for a 3 day shore excursion of St Petersburg? The major tour companies all seem to do approx same tour and prices but looking at Tours by Locals & GetYourGuide eg. it looks much cheaper this way, and have used both these in other places and they have been good. BUT is this a good idea for St Petersburg and also with the Visa Free?

can anyone recommend a tour company to do Elqui Valley, ( or who not to use!) or is it easy to pick up a taxi at the Port to do this?

We used South American Secrets for our trip to the Ballestas Islands in February. They collect you from the port at San Martin. The cost was $40 each. We booked on line and paid via PayPal. A very interesting trip - I highly recommend it.

Did that include the return to ship? Is it worth looking around Pisco or just back to ship?

There were independent outfitters on the dock offering trips to the Ballestas. I know one group of 9 negotiated $35 per person for the transport to the boat and then the boat ride to the island. I can't offer any advice about Paracas.

Are there plenty of taxis, tours offered at San Martin or is it better to pre book?

they have a mini van and I booked them for the 2 days we were docked in lima. met us at the gates and took us to the main sightseeing places before the rest of the crowds. also did the night show of the water fountains. they stayed with us and drove us back to the ship. saw the ruins the 2nd day. very friendly and reasonable.

Hi, would the fountains be worth going back to see after a day tour? Also do you think it is worth going to Huaca pucallana

Hi I am new to cc, am doing a Sth America cruise next year and would like to know if it is safe to,do a small group private tour of Machu Picchu Pisco to Lima not the ships tours. Safe as in getting back to the ship on time as it would not wait for private tours. Anyone had problems?
