Hi, getting the DART to Howth and back to go to Guinness will be busy, but do-able I think. Howth is a lovely place to visit, the cliff walk is a great trail, well worth doing IMO.

Hi, I would 2nd the recommendation of the Long Haul ... other traditional and not very touristy options are Keoghs (South Ann St. off Grafton Street) or McDaids also just off Grafton street. For very authentic trad music sessions the Cobblestones is excellent, but a bit outside city centre in Smithfield, and only likely to have music at night. The Stags Head, off Dame St is also great ... no shortage of good pubs in dublin ...enjoy 😆

Hi, if you are in Dublin for a few days i can recommend Trevor of dublinfalconry.com (we got our puppy from him - he's a real animal whisperer!) ...he operates out of Lutterelstown Castle, a gorgeous venue about 30 mins from Dublin city centre.

Hi, both those options look like very comprehensive tours to me (a Dublin native) ....a lot of driving though! If choosing, i would certainly recommend Galway city over Limerick... given that you are interested in scenery i suggest you have a look at The Wild Atlantic Way - a coastal route which brings you the most scenic way around the West / south west of the country. IMHO you will be fine in a automatic, if that is your driving preference.

Hopefully you will get a chance to visit both, but if i had to choose I'd put for Dublin Castle

Hi Anita, sounds like a good (and busy) day. Its true that most of the main sights are south of the river, but it's a really small city and doesn't take long at all to cross the river ... i recommend crossing over O'Connell Bridge to O'Connell Street and having a look at the General Post Office on the left - it served as battle head quarters in the 1916 Rising and the stone work still bears the scars. If you are looking for someone with good irish fare, but not too touristy you might like to visit the Winding Stair (reservation needed - if you get a window seat you will be over looking the Hapenny bridge). Another nice option beside the Hapenny is the Woolen Mills - a bit more casual.

Hi Busman, I'm also a Dublin native (sadly not on this cruise, but I'm keeping an eye out for any last minute deals!). Your location on Chancery Lane is excellent, roughly a 20 minute walk to most city centre tourist sites. Good idea to get out of the city too though! Some easy options are a tour to wicklow and glendalough / i highly recommend visiting Newgrange ... way older than the pyramids, stonehenge etc, and bizarrely untouristy / a walk on howth head cliff is always beutiful, and easily accessed by public transport (DART train) from city centre....enjoy!
