  1. Debifluff, I am on the Epic on January 2, I had not seen anything about this  Travelsafe requirement for entering PR and NCL do not seem to mention it in their documentation, I will check with my consultant in the AM.

Were you required to show it upon arrival?

Also how did it all work out at the terminal for the Covid testing?  I have listed an arrival time and I assume that is around the time of testing.   I have seen other NCL cruises where people talk about having to make an appointment for their test.   I printed my cruise documents today and see nothing about making an appointment.

Any information you can give me would be appreciated.

    Enjoy your cruise.

The second bedroom is quite small, and ignores you have two pairs of adults then one will certainly have drawn the short straw if they stay there. It is just a small inside room with a sofa bed. I don’t recall for sure, but it may even just have a single bed and a drop down bunk. It does have its own toilet, which is handy as the huge main bathroom is attached to the main bedroom.

Really it’s just a kids room.

I have heard of adults sharing these rooms, and have also heard about the problems when deciding who sleeps where. I recall one time that someone said they swapped mid cruise.

It’s a great itinerary, by the way.

Thanks for the info.  That is what I was thinking the second room would be for me and my 18 year old Granddaughter.  We usually would take connecting balcony cabins at least that gives you two bathrooms.

I think it is a great itinerary and had looked at it a few weeks ago and then it vanished, nobody seemed to have an answer as to where it was going.  I then was told that on August 2 an email had gone out internally saying it was now going to be 15 days instead of14 days.   Originally it was ending in Finland I think and now it is going back to Amsterdam.   This would affect the rest of the cruises until they can get back on track.   I will just watch for a few weeks in case there are any changes.

We just  had a change on our June cruise to Cuba which was rescheduled at the last minute because of the Cuban embargo.

  3. The Jade has come back on as a 15  day  Jun 27 - Jul 12.  2020. Best of the Baltic’s leaving from Amsterdam.  I have been looking at it and trying to decide on the Family 2 Bedroom suite or 2 connecting balcony cabin.   Does anyone have any info on the 2 bedroom suite.   Does it have 2 bathrooms and is that 2nd bedroom OK for 2 adults or is it just a kids room.

  4. We did not have to pay for the upgrade it was one of the free perks.  The only thing we hadto pay was the $5.80 and just for the water it was worth it because if you did not have the Premium package you had to pay for any bottles of water you asked for at the bar or meals.  A liter of water in the mini bar was $5.50.

Everyone needs to think what they really want and just be happy with it.

  5. We got it by the glass but had 2 glasses,  I heard a comment that you could get the bottle and probably like the wines we got and  took with us as long as they opened it.  If you want the bottle then Champagne bar is best and probably DR.  Be sure and put your card out so they can see that you have the PPBP.   A lady beside me wanted what I was having and they asked for her card and when they saw it commented that she would need to get the Sparkling Wine as she did not have the Premium.

  6. When we booked our cruise this was one of the free options, which made it an upgrade from the premium (normal) package to the premium plus.   They said the retail value of the upgrade was $29 per person per day and we had to pay the gratuity of 20% which was $5.80 per day or $23.20 for the four days.   It was a no brainer.   According to my notes the premium (all inclusive package)was $99 per day and the Premium package was $128 an increase of $29 per day.   Depending on what offers they were giving you these amounts could change.

They made me get the package for my granddaughter even though she could not drink alcohol but she was in my cabin.  I just felt that it was worth it even getting it for her since it covered waters and fresh orange juice and for the $5.80per day gratuity.

My daughter, son in law and I definitely made up for it.

If you are drinking something on embarkation day in Cape Canaveral or presale in Key West they have to charge the local tax.

It really is not much, I think a glass of the real good champagne I paid $1.50 in tax and a bottle of wine at lunch on sailing day was $5.04.

    Enjoy your cruise.

  7. We just came off the Sun yesterday and of course instead of Cuba we went to the Bahamas.  Ship and staff were very nice.  No complaints.

We had the Premium Plus Beverage Package and it was great.  We had Vieuve Clicquot (sp) Champagne at the Champagne Bar.  Wonderful wines with dinner usually 1 bottle Chardonnay and 1 of Cabernet and another bottle or sometimes 2 to take with us.  All they had to do was open it and pour a little then you could take the bottle along.

We usually picked up bottles of water during the day and with meals we would get the large bottles of still and sparkling.  Also you could take one of them with you, so we always had wine back on the balcony and plenty water in the room.  There were 4 of us although my granddaughter was under age for alcohol but she was happy just to get waters.

Fresh squeezed OJ at the topsider bar.

It was definitely worth every penny.

  8. We were wondering the same things about the Tropicabana and decided on the Carribean Cabaret at the Hotel National.

Were you able to do the electronic filing of the OFAC affidavit form for your 17 year old.  I have done that and submitted it for our NCL Cruise June 17.  I thought if it could not be done for a minor that it would be rejected.  We have paid the $75 visa fee to NCL.   It is my understanding that these are two separate items.  The OFAC form is  for the US and the visa is to enter Cuba .

Has anyone had a minor with them and how did the Visa work out.

  9. I also had an email from Fertours.  He is happy to report that he is now back in business.   Had to make a few minor changes.   He will no longer go into the old city but  will do everything else that he promised.

i had booked with him for a date in June but when I got word that he was going out of business I needed to find someone else.    The group I have booked with have also said that they could not go into the old city

if you have not booked yet give Fertours2 Havana a try.  Or try Blexie on Facebook.
