Greg I always enjoy reading your blogs.  So many details and great tips.  My daughter and I go on the Magic out of NY next summer!!  

Loving your review so far!!  We are on the next 8 day sailing of the Horizon on March 19th.  Same itinerary with the exception of going to Bonaire rather than Curacao.  My daughter is going to spend all week at that gelato station LoL!!!  

How did this excursion go for you?  We are considering doing this since our flight doesn't leave until 5:40.  

Greg I just came across your Magic review, don't know how I missed it before.  I have seen many of your reviews and they are always fantastic.  We were on the Magic in September and are scheduled on her again January 2nd.  We are still holding on to a thin strand of hope we will sail so it was fun to see your pictures!!

My daughter and I were sitting a couple seats down from you in the FTTF area!  I remembered hearing you say they wouldn't let your husband back in and thinking how absolutely ridiculous that was.  Glad to hear he made it back in so you all could enjoy your FTTF benefits!!

I am looking for a hotel close to Long Beach cruise port that also has a shuttle service either free or low cost from LAX.  Anyone have any ideas?

We were on this sailing as well.  The casino was super smoky,  I couldn't stay in there for more than a couple minutes.  The smokers side if the ship was always full as well.  

I have bought $300 in cruise cash ahead of time with my gift cards.  The trick with cruise cash is if you have money left over you go to the casino and add it to the slot machine play a few spins and cash out.  

I am LOVING your review.  We will be on the Magic on the 31st and can't wait to hang out with Topher and Calypso at Jacks. 

I saw in a YoutTube video of someones recent cruise stop to GT that there was one of those inflatable water parks off the beach.  Does anyone know any info about thi?

We are doing this itinerary August 31st and can't wait!!  What did you do in St. Kitts and St. Maartin?  

Avoid deck 6 above the Red frog Pub.  We were above it on the Breeze and it was crazy loud.  Thankfully we were always tired and able to sleep ok, but if your a light sleeper it would be a bad deal!!

I travel with my daughter alone who has a different last name.  She travels with a passport and I also get a signed letter from her dad and bring her birth certificate.  With that being said...I have never had to show anything other than her passport to board or disembark the ship!!

I was in a spa cabin (11237) and I must say it was not up to what I expected. When getting spa treatments % discounts you have to do 3 treatment per person. They only give you a discount for 1 treatment only for  embarkation day only!! To receive 20%, 30% or 40% you need to do 3 treatments. Very strange how Carnival play with your mind on the numbers.  

 

The spa area is just ok.... In my opinion the 5 areas was a nice experience.

 

Smoking on the ship Carnival needs to be more strict... Letting people smoke where ever they want and e-cigs.... LOL

People puff them when ever and where ever they want. A cloud of smoke was coming off the elevator.  

 

In all it was nice and you get what you paid for. 

I am booked in 11237 and wasn't aware it was a spa cabin?!?  I took this room as an upgrade for $40.  Just wanted to be on an upper deck.  

You can get it off at the casino if it is cruise cash opposed to bar cash.  Go load it onto a machine, spin a few times, then cash out.

Love the “Cheers police!”  Pretty sure it’s the person making the shake that gives me 2 spoons and straws for it!  Somehow I think it’s people like you that care more about sharing than the people that actually work for the cruise line!  🙄 Better for my kid to drink part of it than leave the rest sitting in the glass to be trashed!  👍 

I made two and one I got back within a day and the other took a week!

We are on the August 31 cruise and see all kinds of shore excursions.  I would call them, maybe it has something to do with booking with a TA opposed to with Carnival?!?  

I think the last show normally starts around 9:30 or 10:00?!?  We had a balcony room on deck 6 of the Breeze right above the Red Frog Pub.  I will NEVER book deck 6 again!  It was so stinking loud, thankfully we were so tired every night we were able to sleep.  I would go up a deck to 7 if I were you!
