  1. my vote goes to the Blonde Giraffe...............frozen wedge of key lime pie on a stick dipped in chocolate..........YUMMMMMOOOOO! ! ! ! !! !

Let it thaw a few minutes before trying to bite it....when totally frozen solid it does not taste as good as thawed......we ate ours on the walk back to the ship after having Cuban sandwiches at El Mason de Pepe ! ! ! ! That was good too ! ! !

My first bite was Ok I'm not so sure about this.....it was really frozen solid. The man in the store said to let it thaw a few minutes and then try it again, he must have seen my face UGH!! I let it thaw and bit it again, still not sure.........let it thaw some more and by now it was the consitancy of a regular slice of pie. OMG! ! ! ! ! ! talk about good ! ! ! ! ! I still get goose bumps thinking about it......It was soooooooooo good !!!!

  3. key lime pie with meringue sounds like the fake key lime pie they make at Stop and Shop.

Green jello like substance with meringue............nastyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!

Real, Genuine Key Lime pie has just a dollop of REAL whipped cream.

There is a bakery in Palm Harbor FL on ALT 19 that makes pies for all the local restaurants.........best Key Lime Pie I have ever had so far..........looking forward to sampling what Key West has to offer.

  5. Don't plan on buying a whole pie because it would never make it home........YUM ! ! !

Do plan on buying Nellie & Joes's Key Lime juice when we get back from the cruise and head over to Clearwater......Publix is my favorite grocery store in FL, wish they were up north.

  6. I've been researching some restaurants and places to shop in Key West for our visit in August. The Blonde Giraffe keeps coming up as the best place to have key lime pie. Last night on the Food network they did a show on the best foods on a stick and right up there with corn dogs was frozen key lime pie on a stick from the Blonde Giraffe.

Anyone been there??? Is it as great as it sounds???? I love key lime pie and plan to buy several bottles of key lime juice to take home to make my pies.

  7. my favorite cruise breakfast was on the Nordic Prince May 1985....we had lobster tails for dinner the night before and so we tried to order lobster for breakfast. Our waiter told us we watched too much Love Boat  and suggested the ham and cheese omlet with potatoes. so we agreed and munched on some pastries and fruit while our omlets were cooking. When he arrived with our breakfast he placed the covered dishes in front of us and lifted both silver covers at the same time......to our surprise there were our ham and cheese omlets, potatoes, and YES a lobster tail.......don't have to tell you he got a nice tip at the end of our cruise.....:D
