  1. Not sure what type of stateroom you are looking for, but we were on Deck 10 (so cabins on the decks above and below) and nothing but staterooms on that deck. We found it to be ideal for getting around. Specifically we were in 10212. Which is a Superior Ocean View with Balcony. It was great. Others recommend Deck 8, as it is the same deck as Central Park, so convenient for accessing the amenities there, and Central Park is quite a quiet area.

Thanks, KiwiGal! I prefer to have either a Boardwalk or Central Park view. I also like to be higher up on a ship, so Deck 10 does sound ideal.

  2. With 2018 itineraries to be released soon, I am trying to figure out what stateroom to book on Symphony of the Seas. I haven't cruised on Royal before, but should I assume the staterooms available on Symphony will be nearly identical to those on Harmony? And that the deck plans will also be similar? I want to ensure I book a room that is sandwiched between two floors with cabins both above and below, for example.

    TIA! :)

  3. Thank you for your replies!

I didn't realize 2 drydocks in 5 years are a requirement, but it's good to know that!

I have never flown Singapore Airlines but I will keep them in mind! I have flown Malaysia Airlines to Asia previously and had no issues with them. But one way tickets can be tricky to find reasonable prices on, so thank you for the tip!

  4. My reply does not have anything to do with China but I think the repositioning cruise from Singapore to Sydney would be amazing!

Does anyone have any idea what additional changes they could make to the Carnival Spirit when it has already been refurbished a couple times, and relatively recently?

The ship will arrive in Singapore in May, be refurbished, and then sent back to Australia. If that occurs in June/July, what might the ocean conditions/weather be? A smooth trip, or possible rocky?

Also, how do Aussie passengers compare to North American passengers? I am assuming the majority would be from Australia.

I would love to book this cruise but I think the one way flights to Singapore and then from Sydney back to Canada would make this too cost prohibitive for us!

    TIA!

  5. We are sailing on the Breeze Christmas cruise with our three sons who are 17, 14 and 4. I would book the Seavis Tours excursion if not for worries that our 4 year old would not enjoy it as much.

But if anyone has done one of the Seavis excursions especially with a young child let me know your thoughts.

But I have looked on CCL sponsored beach excursions and they have 2 beach day excursions.

One doesn't have any reviews so if anyone has any knowledge please please please let me know ASAP. It's called the NUEVA ROMANA BEACH ESCAPE.

And the other is for Bayahibe Beach Resort an AI which is about $100 per person with iffy reviews.

Or I have seen a few day passes we can get for other resorts like Dreams. But alcohol isn't important to us meaning we don't need it for this excursion.

What did you decide to do in La Romana? How did it go with your 4 year old? TIA for any info you can provide! :)

If you don't mind, once you return from your cruise, will you let us know what you chose and how it turned out? We will be in La Romano in April 2016 and will have our 7 and 4 year olds with us, so I'm interested how your excursion goes with your youngest. TIA! :) Have a great trip.

  7. Does anyone have an idea when NCL will release sailings for Europe summer 2017? I am considering booking Norwegian or Celebrity for that period and have heard Celebrity will be releasing summer 2017 towards the end of this November. I'm torn with booking with Celebrity immediately then, or holding off and waiting to see pricing/itineraries for Norwegian.
