My wife and I are scheduled for a 7 day Western Caribbean departing Miami on March 28.  Sadly, we are probably going to end up cancelling.  Just waiting a bit in case something changes for the better (I doubt it).

We are both not at all worried for health reasons, but our kids would be staying home by themselves for the week for the first time, and we are OK with that, but if for some reason the ship were to be held up (quarantined) or we are held up, I would not want our kids home by themselves for maybe up to 3 or 4 weeks.

I work in a hospital, my wife in the school district, and here in NB, the Education Minister has already imposed a mandatory 14 day house isolation upon return for any school kids or employees that return from out of country as of march 9th.  So automatically my wife would be stuck home, and probably just a matter of time before I get the same guidelines.

I know much of the reaction in the population form this is hysterical and out of proportion, but nonetheless, we have to make our decisions based on what is best for us, and it looks like cancelling is the most appropriate one.  I wish we had no other responsibilities to anyone else and we could just chance it and go like others here can.

I do wish the best of luck to those that decide to go, and best of luck finding deals to those rebooking 😉

We are in the same boat as you here in Alberta .

  2. We are coming in on the Liberty of the Seas at the international cruise port . Is there a place at the port or within walking distance to rent a Jeep for the day ? We want to check out the east side of Cozumel .

    Hi

We are due to sail on the Mariner for a 3 night cruise after Christmas.

The deluxe drink package is currently $61pppn plus gratuities (18%)

We had hoped we may get a better deal in the Black Friday sale, but it looks like just the refreshment package is on sale.

if we leave it till the last minute, is it definitely possible to buy on board?   And is it generally the same price, or dearer?

(we’ve always bought our packages pre cruise so I’ve never taken any notice of the prices on board😳)

    Thanks

    T

Iam have been told precruise purchase will always be cheaper .

I just did a "phantom" booking request. At 3:30pm, CDT on Tuesday, 8/27/19, both Uber and Lyft offer one-way, IAH-Port of Galveston for US $63.35. Uber XL is US $155.66. Estimated transit time is 90 minutes.

Commute times and pricing will vary, based on time of day and day of week.

Thanks for doing that we don’t sail until March 29th 2020 . It’s good to know a number that’s is close so we can plan for it .

We are booked on Liberty in March 2020 . In cruise planner now allows us to booked shore exchrusions but all other stuff in unviable at this time . How far out will the other stuff for purchase show up ?

You are likely only seeing a sampling of the excursions that will actually be offered. The full array will appear later on. Impossible to say when. There's no discernable rhyme or reason as to when they release everything for a particular itinerary. Our last cruise, everything was available 9 months out. The two cruises before that, it was more like 3 - 4 months. So check back periodically.

Ok thanks I have never booked a cruise this far out . Usually book  six months or less.

I am sailing on Anthem of the Seas in May and mine became available a little more than 90 days out.....Join your roll call on here and that is a great place to get the heads up, when it opens!  That is how I found out and went on to book everything!

    There isn’t one yet

  7. We were on Oct 22nd sailing and it was much different . Our service was awesome other than one night in MDR. Room attendant was great shout out to Omar ! Also shout out to Sandeep and Albert in American Icon . Hands down best wait staff I have ever had on my five cruises.

Oasis is a big ship and you need to do your research. There are penalty of places to eat if you don't like crowds . I know cause my family doesn't like crowded places . You will never get away from evaltors issues . Take the stairs if you are able . Planning is the key for Oasis class ships !
