  1. Simple Question hopefully... I asked MSC if there were ironing facilities on board the Lirica. I stated I was not referring to the Laundry Package but asking that if I had a clean (no need for laundry) garment that I needed to Iron would there be a board and iron I could use? The referred me to the Laundry Package!

Does anyone know if Irons and Boards are available on board? Thank

  2. AmoMondo. Thanks for That, Sailing on your Birthday by the looks of it. Looked at (Nosy Parker) your Stats and you do certainly like your Cruising! If you have time.... On the Lirica, we have Drinks (Alcoholic) with meals and a Laundry Package thrown in which is great. will be looking at purchasing some beer chits and they have 14 beers + water and the beer is draught 40cl. they also have 14 bottled beers too, whats the best/economical (don't need the water!). Also, is there irons/ironing boards on board? and whats on the TV in the room if you fancy an early night? I am on oh double seven one nine eight nine oh seven one eight if you call I will call you back. be nice to chat.

  3. Good Day all.

We are departing Genoa 21st March for Shanghai onboard the MSC Lirica and would like to talk to others who are also passengers. We seem to be the only ones on the Roll Call and have looked for other forums or Roll Calls for the Lirica and cannot find them. (we know the ship exists as we have seen pictures and reviews of it!). If anyone can advise as we are first time cruisers and it would be good to chew the fat with others who are going too.

We are on FB and all the other Social Media sites and can furnish our email address if interested. Thanks.

  4. Hi. As you have been on the Lirica before your help would be appreciataed and if you would like it would be good to contact you.

    hi Rod

We are joining this cruise in Dubai (flying from Newcastle). By the time we join your you will have found your way around the ship. We have cruised before on this particular ship and remember that the cabins were comfortable but the meals were average at best. We tend to do our own thing in port and rarely take the ships excursions because of the costs . If you have not cruised before be wary of the excursion prices and do your research on the ports of call. (We are currently looking at the options ) . Anyone else out there interested in joining the thread?

  5. Hi There. I have already started a Roll Call for the Lirica which departs Genoa on March 21st for Shanghai but had no takers yet  I was wondering as first time cruisers if there are other ways to contact prospective cruisers from the UK? If anyone has any MSC Tips for this cruise we are all ears! Thanks.

  6. We are first time Cruisers and are booked on the MSC Lirica for 42 nights from Genoa to Shanghai. A few questions please.

We have been `Given` a drinks package which means unlimited Alcoholic drinks with Lunch and Dinner. This package if purchased (Cheers Package) is worth in excess of £500 pp. We asked to upgrade to all inclusive drinks package of which we said we would pay the difference. NO GO said MSC, you have to pay the full whack for it. Anyone come across this I wonder?

Also, when on board are there Tea/Coffee/Water stations around? I drink a lot of water and feel somewhat queasy about paying for Mineral Water, I would like to assume MSC supply drinking water to survive 42 nights?

If I get no joy here I will ask MSC direct. Thought I would ask cruisers first.

Oh. Lastly, anyone any tips on visiting Petra from Aqaba?

    Thanks.

  7. All Sorted thanks.

Just didn't want to pay 2.5% on Credit card on £3000+. All sorted now after calling my Credit Card Provider. Bear in mind I Never use Credit Cards which is why I posed the question. Its the protection a card offers on top of ATOL protection etc. Anyway, as said, after speaking to provider you only have to pay a percentage on your card to be protected, so that's what I have done. And yes, I pay the TA and they pay the cruise line and yes, the TA obviously makes their bit but hey, I still get a better deal than booking direct with the Cruise line.

    Thanks for your advice.

  8. First time Cruisers....I have £3000 to pay on our cruise. The agent is ATOL registered as well as IATA and a member of CLIA. Is there any advantage to paying with my credit card (which will cost me 2.5%, £75!) Re credit card protection, or am I being over cautious? Thanks. !

  9. Good day to you Cruisers. Bitten the bullet and taking a foray into cruising and our first is an MSC 42 day cruise from Genoa in March to Shanghai. We have checked out Visa Requirements as British Nationals and the only ones that will cause us a bit of work are those for China and India. India might be an EVisa Online (?) and China will be one to work at. We have been to India a couple of times already and to get a `Normal` Holiday Visa is a pain. For Cruising, ie: visiting one day is it the same or are there dispensations for Cruise passengers?

Looking forward to the trip and, as an aside, on MSC am I allowed (generally) to take a bottle of alcohol on board in my luggage?

Any hints or help warmly received!:)
