We are trying to decide on which SJ family suite to get on the Dawn, with or without balcony and any input (other than pricing) would be much appreciated. 🙂
We have sailed on the Star, in a family suite, but none of them had balconies. Loved how spacious those rooms were! Are the no balcony Dawn suites larger on the interior, than the ones with balconies?

It will depend on yourvipad version Mine is the old 40 pin wide one. Google results here

Make sure you have a good power adapter I have had the iPad go dead when on a cheap charger playing back on hdmi. I have cables for my android tablet and newer sub c phone.

I am on a balcony mini suite on the Epic right now I can unplug the HDMI 1 cable and plug in my own cable to watch stuff from my iPad. I have average size man hands. I used my phone in selfie mode to take a picture of the back of the TV.
Could you please link to the cable you use with your iPad?

We LOVED our stay at Treetops Executive Residence off of Orchard Rd... such a great find after struggling to find a simple hotel room that sleeps four!
We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite (twin beds in kid's room) for a very reasonable price, extensive hot breakfast included (western and eastern food), free shuttle to tourist areas, 10 minutes walk to subways, nice neighborhood/location. Kitchenette had food goodies included (maybe biscuits, juice, fruit and bottled water) with a walkable grocery store. Great sitting area with large tv and dining table. Nice pool (luke warm hot tub) beautiful grounds. Hope to go back some day!

I think the way it usually works with many cruise lines, is that the percent offered is off the price of your next cruise. So, if you spent $10,000 on this cruise, you do not get $5,000 to spend on another cruise. Rather, if your next cruise is $5,000, you get 50% off which is actually $2,500.
In my first hand experience on NCL, this is not accurate. You will not get 50% off your next cruise.
With your dollar example, I received $5000 (minus original taxes/fees/port charges) towards my next cruise. The 50% off is used to determine the dollar value off the next cruise.

Family suite for sure! Try to avoid 12530 and 12030, those two cabins are a different shape and only accommodate 4 people instead of six -they don't have the Pullman bed (which would be preferable for the second two adults). The pull out couch is much less desirable.

Our best meals were at Cagney's and Le Bistro! Let Le Bistro know if you're pressed for time, they can be slow. We where not impressed with the food at Moderna.

Mcferran - is there anything in the suite (Star 14000 specifically) that will allow for our own digital music... maybe some audio input cables to the TV? Or will we need to bring a speaker with us?

If you are in a Garden Villa all beverages are included regardless of the Ultimate beverage package. If you are in an Owner's suite, everything in the mini bar is included as well as 3 bottles (your choice) of alcohol.
If you are in the Garden Villa, is everything in the minibar included as well?

Can anyone tell me how many outlets are in the Star family suite (SJ)? I'm assuming there are two in the bathroom, but what about the main room?
If it matters, we will be in one of the rooms that only sleeps four, with the angled window (allowing a little forward view).

No pods. The nupresso pods are really small. You (or your butler) can get packets of hot chocolate from the buffet. use the hot water from your nupresso machine to make to make a cup of chocolate. May need to bring a mug from the buffet too, the coffee cups are small.
