  1. My wife & I are doing a full transit through the Canal in October 2017 & I was wonder which side of the ship will be facing the newer locks (Port or Starboard Side)? Can you see the newer locks or older locks while going through your set of locks? Not sure what locks we will be using.

What is the best side of the ship to be on during the transit? We have a balcony on the Port Side.

We will be leaving Long Bech, Ca to New Orleans

Love to hear about Cruise when you get back, coming into New Orleans. Are you going to stay awhile and site see in New Orleans? Let us know where you got the best views, is it the Norwegian Pearl? Have fun!

  2. Recently we decided to go on a repositioning cruise in April 2017 on the Celebrity Reflection, from Miami to the Mediterranean. I noticed that almost all of the Concierge rooms were already taken and the early dining option was completely filled. I now have started looking for same cruise in 2018 and again many of the concierge cabins are gone, just how far ahead do you have to book? I'm fearful that we already waited too long, considering my husband's health and age. Also do we have to get the travel insurance a full year and a half early if we book for 2018?

  3. Recently we did a cruise out of Miami but opted to fly in and out of Fort Lauderdale on Southwest because of cheaper cost. Our return flight was not until 5:15 PM, which was a nightmare (-FYI), 1- we were at airport at noonish, 2-and of course had to hold on to luggage 3-we couldn't check in until 2:45. But Southwest's terminal was packed all the time we were there!! They had flights going out every 20 minutes out of about 8 gates. There was never enough room for everyone to sit, so they were standing or sitting around against walls, windows etc. I'm not sure who's fault it is tho, the airport for not having a bigger concourse, or Southwest for having too many flights. I felt we were a herd of cattle, gathered in 'pens' according to where you were going. Is this what flying is coming too? Since the de-regulation the airlines have made seats smaller, no leg room, and they charge for everything!! I don't know what the answer is but I know we better find one!!
