  1. I have 32,098 points. Will this get me anything? I want to know if it is worth it for me to break the card back out and start using it again. I have been using an airline card lately, so I could get myself a flight. Thanks in advance.

Derbie, 30,000 gets you a single upgrade....interior to window, or window to balcony in the same category.

60,000 is a double upgrade...interior to balcony in the same category.

    I hope that helps.

  2. I used my NCL branded MasterCard (issued by Bank of America) several times on a recent cruise from San Francisco to Miami, with ports in Mexico, Costa Rica and Colombia. Turns out that this card charges foreign transaction fees. I won't be using it any longer for out of country purchases! :lips-sealed: I am absolutely NOT a fan of Bank of America and ONLY took the card for the initial perks. At least it has no annual fee.

The unfortunate reality is the NCL card is not good for much more than NCL purchases. The Carnival card, through Barclay, waives foreign transaction fees and offers far more services. I wish NCL would dump BofA and move to Barclay. We just hit the points necessary for our upgrade with the NCL card, so we won't be using it any longer except for NCL purchases.

  3. We love deck 9. We Had a mid ship BB May of 2017, but are doing a BD in Jan 2018, then back to the same BB cabin in May 2018. The only real concern might be if your cabin is directly over the Theater, and then it should only be an issue during rehearsals and performance. With a guarantee, you could end up directly across from the stairs and elevators, which for some is bother some, but I think you will be fine. The bathroom/sink/shower set up are amazing, but the room is small, and the balcony is average. Enjoy your cruise and cabin.

  4. Our trip starts (I hope ) friday, the 14th, We fly from Mumbai to UAE for a couple of days before boarding Celebrity Constellation for 15 day cruise to Rome.

I am from Fl. while my boyfriend is from India.

We are getting him a visa to the US, so I am showing him around this area of the world. We sailed Celebrity this March from UAE to Singapore. That was his first time out of India, let alone his first time on a plane.

    Ron here and Deepak.

It sounds like an exciting adventure! You are both lucky you can be away from your jobs, home, family, pets, etc for so many weeks! Safe travels! Looking forward to maybe meeting you both on the NCL cruise.

  5. We are on both, the 18th & 28th. Ww are staying in Venice 5/2then return to Rome on 5/ 9 and explore the city pre cruise

    What about you ?

We will be spending a bit more than a week pre cruise in Lisbon Portugal and on the Island of Madeira, before arriving in Rome. It will be here before we know it! We are very excited.

  6. This is what I found about deck 5:

On the Norwegian Spirit's Deck 5, most of the staterooms have cabins above and beneath to buffer noises from public areas. Staterooms on this deck are worth considering for economy minded travelers!

    • Inside cabin 5035 is larger than average, but it's located by a stairwell and could have noise issues.
    • There are several ocean view cabins (5500- 5612 port side and 5000- 5100 starboard) from which to choose on Deck 5 of the Norwegian Spirit.
    • Aft on Deck 5 of the Norwegian Spirit, Oceanview Staterooms 5600- 5612 port side, 5100 starboard, and interior cabins 5599, 5601, and 5099 are under the general area of the smaller main dining room. There could be noise during dining hours and during the clean-up after each meal. For dinner, the last diners usually exit by 10:30 and there is likely some noise from the clean-up (vacuum cleaners) as late as 11:30. Given that most people don't get back to their cabins to after 11 PM, this shouldn't be a substantial issue. Breakfast typically starts in the main dining room at 7:00 AM, so you might hear some noise above starting then. However, few people go to the main dining room for breakfast, so this should not be a major issue.

  7. Hi, I have just booked a 10 day cruise on the Spirit for August 2018 and could do with some advice on deck and cabin choice.

I am currently booked into an outside picture window cabin located on deck 6 forward (cabin 6018) but toying with paying a little extra for a slightly larger outside on deck 8.

Looking at the deck plan, I am currently directly under the casino but if I moved up to deck 8, I would be directly over it, so my question is, apart from a slightly larger cabin, would I reduce the risk of noise from the Casino by being above it rather than below it.

    TIA Meg

    Hi, Meg 67

From what I have read both deck 6 and deck 8 have issues so you will have to determine, by reading reviews and knowing your sleep patterns, if either deck is a good fit for you. I found a review here on CC from someone who stayed in 6018 and loved it. Search for Reviews NCL Spirit and put in the cabin number Good luck.:

    • Forward on Deck 6 of the Norwegian Spirit, exterior cabins 6500- 6530 port side, 6000- 6030 starboard, and inside staterooms 6503- 6519, 6521- 6533, and 6003- 6019 are under the casino, where there could be late night noise issues. If you are light sleeper, you may prefer to find a cabin elsewhere on the ship.

    • Best cabins to consider on Deck 8 of the Norwegian Spirit are 8550- 8553 port side and 8050- 8052 starboard. These will be a bit quieter because they are not over the casino bar area.
    • The rest of the staterooms (8500- 8538 port side, 8000- 8038 starboard, and all of the Spirit's Deck 8 inside cabins) happen to be right over the bar and casino. This could be a noise concern until very late at night.

  8. its a photo album from our recent trip dunno why it can't open a shared file, ah well............ look up Mark Clownboy on FB............... add me as a friend and then look there :)

Hi Mark, is the album "public"? If not, then only your friends can see it. Would you mind changing it to public?

  9. I'm on the 12 March sailing but have never sailed on Spirit before. Happy to investigate and post my findings here so let me have some tasks.

Hi Number34,52511334, I would love to see pictures of the menus from any of the restaurants and the bars. I'd also be interested to know what some of the sea day (fee extra) actives are such as mixology class, other classes, tours, lectures, etc.

    Thanks,,

    Teri

  10. Technically no. You might be better with a statement credit instead if you are not going to spend nothing on board.

    Steve

Hi Steve, thanks for the information. Every where I turn it seems like NCL is tiring to stick it to me. The ultimate drink package is far from ultimate, which I suspect is why the are offering it as part of the cabin price. Hopefully our on board experience will be good because I am beginning to regret booking a cruise with them.
