  1. We are on a cruise mid October 7 day to Cozumel, Roatan, and Belize. I am not a fan of Belize and also have done those ports may times. We are thinking about seeing if we can transfer to 8 day Half Moon cay (my favorite port) Naussa, Freeport and Key West. Are all those ports open? I heard Freeport is not good and we would like to go to Alantis (day pass) if possible. Is that even possible with covid right now? I had heard key west port closed but dont know if that is in the past or if open now. Any pointers, suggestions ect? Is the transfer fee $500.00?

  3. We booked this cruise with our entire family however one daughter is canceling as she has two young kids and with covid restrictions they are not going. We picked this cruise for their fall break but is it not the ports we liked. We would

like to change to just a different t ship/ports same time

    frame

  4. What is a good hotel to stay at. We arrive about 1:00 am and need a good place to stay  for one night but not crazy expensive. We are already booked Residence Inn Downtown for the following night (decided to fly in extra day early) and Residence is already sold out.

  5. We arrive in Anchorage via train from Seward late Friday night and renting a car Saturday morning. Our flight leaves from Anchorage on Monday at 6:30pm. We have not been to Denali yet so thinking about that and would drive there Saturday and do the 8 hour shuttle into Denali on  Sunday. After shuttle probably drive and stay in Talkeenta Sunday night and finish drive Monday morning for flight. Do you think this is a good plan or should we just consider something else?

  6. We are driving into Denali from Anchorage on a Saturday morning and plan on taking the shuttle (the 8 hour shuttle) into Denali on Sunday. Our flight leaves from Anchorage on Monday at 6:30pm. Should we stay in Denali, Talkeenta or Anchorage Sunday night?  Also any recommendations on where to stay?

  7. We had balcony on last one and probably one of the rare but we barely used it. We liked going on the other decks so we can see both sides. We have interior booked for next one.

  8. This will be my first cruise going platinum!! Traveling this Sunday on the breeze. We have a check in time 11:30-12:00 but can we get there earlier? Also carrying on wine can we drop that off in our room before the 1:30 time frame? I have read we get early access to rooms but if the hall door closed how do we get in? Any tips for first time platinum are appreciated.

  9. Could you tell me if this is possible please. Saturday morning drive to Denali and stay until Monday morning. Monday drive to Whittier and sight see along the way. I looked and most places sold out to stay in Whittier so probably have to stay in Girdwood. The tunnel to Whittier looks pretty cool to see also.

  10. I'm one who likes the Fairbanks area but with only 4 days I'd probably skip it. Again, it goes back to YOUR interests.... are you interested in an ice trek at Matanuska Glacier? ror do you prefer scenic drives? museums? cultural activities?

You need to look at both areas and determine which itinerary best supports your interests, then plot out each day with drive times, sightseeing times, etc.

    Sat drive to Denali.

    Sun shuttle into park

    Mon drive to Girdwood

Tues Visit the Wildlife Center, pan for gold, hike at Byron Glacier, Portage Lake/Glacier, Potters Marsh boardwalk

    OR

Monday.. drive to Matanuska Glacier. Do an ice trek. Overnight at a cabin nearby. Detour to Independence Mine

Tues drive to Girdwood (3 hrs ) for local exploring.

I assume you'll overnight in or near Anchorage and return the car to the airport on Wed ?

Thank you for the suggestions all sound good lol. Yes we are staying in anchorage last night to return car to airport.

  12. We get into Anchorage after cruise on a Friday night and thinking about either heading to Denali and Fairbanks for our four day post land or Denali and than Anchorage, Gridwood, Palmer area. Two of those days either way will be spend mostly in Denali. Which one do you all prefer? About how long does it take to get from Anchorage to Fairbanks? Any suggestions are welcome.
