  1. We boarded the Bliss a week and a half ago in Long Beach, and the port staff were highly unorganised.  We were looking for the Latitudes line after going through security, and they told us they were busy so they just "mixed all the lines up... go find one and you'll be seen as soon as possible".

Yeah, nice.  Being Platinum didn't hold any weight with them.

  2. Hi Cruisers!

I've been to this shop so many times, and have been given cards... yet I can't find one now that I need it.  It's in the port shopping centre right where the ships dock... they sell cameos, lava stone, some costume jewellery, and some coral jewellery.

I bought a beautiful pair of lava stone drop earrings last year, and have lost one!  It's part of a set (necklace, earrings, bracelet) and they are my favourites, and I'm not due to go back there this year.  I'd like to contact them to arrange to buy another pair.

If anyone has any leads, OR is headed to this port in the next wee while, can you let me know?  Chances are you'll need to walk right past it on or off the ship.  I'd be really grateful for any help you can give me!

    THANK YOU!

  3. Beg to differ-

I clicked thru to that other link and saw the picture of the weirdly paired roast beef dinner I had on the Epic the first week of August (Europe). They had comment cards out for many of the dinner services. The food was good but there were some odd pairings, like corn on the cob with prime rib and a sirloin steak with baked potato was beef sliced similar to roast beef and then a Yukon Gold potato with a smige of butter and sour cream on it- nothing like what I had in my mind when I ordered it. Perhaps Europeans have a different picture than Americans when those dinner descriptions are used. They did have a fantastic cheese plate listed as an app that I kept thru dinner and ate as a cheese course at the end. I suggested they list it as a dessert instead f an app. Why would you pick up a corn cobbette with your fingers in a nice dining room?

From what I can remember, they've been serving prime rib with corn on the cob for years. You can always ask for something else if you don't care for corn - it's not a big deal (or cut the corn off the cob).

  4. I would recommend a small scooter. My dad had some mobility, but told me that he would have used up all his "daily steps" just walking to the elevator for breakfast. We had to talk him into a scooter, but he never looked back after that. He'd rented one for that sailing, then went home and bought one.

They fit easily into the cabin for charging, and make your getting around so much easier!

  5. what would be the cost for the wheelchairs?

    Hi Cruise dog :)

There's a page on this forum for Disabled Cruisers... They were very helpful to my dad when he was preparing to cruise with a scooter. Check them out, they are fab!

  6. I purchased for just one person in the stateroom in advance at $8/day. It was under gifts ... section.

The soda pkg also has the same wording that it has to be purchased for everyone in the stateroom but I always get it for just myself and the system allows it online.

You just click the boxes of which passengers you want the arcade pkg for and then check out/pay.

    YOU ARE FABULOUS!!! Thank you!

  7. I have sleep apnea, and snore over 85 decibels. Before I got a CPAP machine (PLEASE recommend this to your friends' husband... tell him to go get a sleep study done pronto!) we had a cruise on Princess and one on NCL (Escape).

On Escape, I was able to find a place to sleep outside on the sofas on the outside deck (behind Cagneys, if I recall). I even wrote a note and put it on the sofa next to me... "Dear NCL Crew, I'm snoring and keeping my whole family awake... I'll be away early if this is okay with you?" One of the cleaning crew thought it was funny... he said he managed to powerspray the whole deck area around me and the sound of the pressure washer didn't wake me up!

On Princess, I got escorted back to my cabin 3 times by security. I ended up sleeping on the bathroom floor (for 2 weeks!) They had other cabins available, but wanted full fare. They were extremely unhelpful.

If I'd had a balcony I would have slept out there, but really... serious snorers need some help. They are actually *not breathing* most of the time, and their brains suffer from the lack of oxygen. I hope he gets some assistance with this, for his own and his family's sake, and not just for the cruise.

  8. Have you been to an FOD Meeting norwegian escape?

    Hi Cancers rules

Yes, several times on the Escape! Always met really fantastic people. Do keep an eye on the schedule though - the last time on the Escape, they changed the location several times during the week.

    Have a wonderful time!

  9. The main shows where brilliant! I saw Pricilla, Burn the Floor, Cirque Dreams and Graffiti Classics. Well worth going to see. There was no shows that were adult only, as in Battle of the Sexes, Mr and Mrs. Needed something a bit more risqué at night.

If you were looking for something a bit more adult, the Howl at the Moon Duelling Pianos is generally a bit more risqué, particularly after 11pm (until that time, they inexplicably allow kids in the audience). We always have a good laugh in there.

  10. I only take a hanging shoe bag if there's more than two people in a cabin. I've sailed with kids and it's a lifesaver for multiple people... everyone gets a row, and there's a place for all those little things that get left all over the surfaces. I hang it on the front of the bathroom door as there's towel hooks on the back.

But if there's just one or two people in a cabin? Totally not needed.

  11.

I was looking forward to ordering lobster (we have the 3 night specialty dining package), as this isn't something we can typically afford - but was disappointed to read that they're no longer offering this :(

    !

We've been on the Epic several times, and were able to get lobster at the Steakhouse (Cagneys) on the dining package. If I recall, you can also get lobster at the Bistro.

    Have a really good cruise!
