Unlimited Dining Package is the best. Next time you cruise and do the UDP be sure to do the specialty restaurant hop where you go to each specialty restaurant and eat items off each menu all in the same day! We did it last month on Harmony as outlined during my live trip report. Was an amazing time.

Could you explain this a bit more?  I know you said it was already on your trip report, but I could not find it.  I will be cruising solo and it sounds like a great idea for those with the UDP.  Thank you for sharing again for me.

  2. I am adventuresome when ordering.  I can get chicken and beef any day, I go for the lamb, duck, etc.  Sorry, never order fish, but others do and love it. As far as desserts, I rarely order them.  I would much rather eat an extra appetizer than the desserts.  I do however greatly miss the chocolate mints on my pillow from years gone by.  Have a ball and try it all.  In December I am doing my first B2B.  Week one will be exploring MDR offerings and week two is unlimited dining package.  I will be exploring all the speciality dining options.

  3. On this board I read about a different type of excursions that provided experiences to give back to port communities.  Some were working with schools, housing projects, food distribution etc.  I would like to find that website again to check my ports for possible areas to serve.  I have enjoyed all the ports on my next vacation many times, but this time I want to volunteer my time and talents.  Thank you for any help finding these opportunities.  Karen

Overall, we had such a great time that we can't wait to go back.  The only unfortunate part is that we are spoiled now and RC has really raised prices!  It's so expensive to go on an Oasis class ship.  But I am trying to make it work.

Thank you for sharing your experience on the Allure.  I am so excited to go in December. I understand your pain when it comes to expenses as I travel solo so I pay for two people.  The key I have found is to book early.....very early.  As soon as December 2020 was published I booked my rooms for B2B cruises on the Oasis.  So my cruise planner has a cruise only 113 days away and two that are over 500. Best price is always early.  Good luck and I hope to run into you on board someday.

  5. When I was in Nassau last December,  I did not see the tram driving the pier.  However on my way back to the ship, I had a horrible asthma attack before reaching the pier.  I flagged down a worker who then radioed for assistance.  A golf cart appeared in minutes and took me all the way to the gangway. It was such a blessing as it took another hour to get the asthma under control. I have learned over the years to ask politely for what I need, be patient and tip joyously.

  6. Yes, I royally agree with most of you that I do not like Nassau.  But let’s work together to make this the best port event ever!  Share the best excursions, restaurants,  Bars, beaches, private tours, sea glass finding beaches, etc.  It is too costly to change ships now for most of us, so let's unite and make the day better than ever expected.  I normally stay on the ship at this port, but I will take the best suggestion and go for it.  Come on, we have time to create a fabulous plan.

  7. I know you asked about the main dining room, but the answers given have totally covered that topic.  I thought I would mention that have taken a mini smoothie maker on cruises for years.  I feel better starting my day with a protein shake.  I pack my protein,  almond milk in cartons so it is shelf stable, etc.  I have even collected berries from the buffet the day before for an awesome wake up!  ️No not shy away from taking uneaten food back to your room.  When hunger hits or you get the protein  low with shakes, you will be delighted you have a cheese plate in the fridge.  Have a wonderful time!

  8. Being a solo traveler and planning my first B2B on the Allure, your experience has raised a fair amount of concern.  I surely do not want to be targeted because I decided I need two weeks to decompress.  As a solo woman, I will not feel safe and relaxed as this gentleman.  No standing in a robe.....please oh please.  I am really sorry you had this experience.

  9. Fantastic everyone.  I am sold and signing up tonight for VOOM and streaming.  The people on Cruise Critic are the BEST!  270 days until I am on the Allure for a b2b.  If you are on, I will be the the one with the biggest smile and pale Midwest skin....until day 4 when I begin to look a lovely brown.  😎

  10. I have never purchased any of the internet packages on previous cruises.  On my next cruise, I would like access to e-mail, Facebook, YouTube, FaceTime.  Do I need to purchase VOOM or would buying international data access from my Mobil provider work just as well?  I believe Streaming is for watching movies....anything else needs Streaming?  Thank you, Karen

  11. I always have to call to get my double points.  Yes, it is the only way I have gotten  credit for the double cost.  Flip side, I made Diamond more quickly...o just wish I was more of a drinker to the full benefit.  I have not seen much offered to diamond outside of the free happy hour drinks.   Cruise on fellow solo travelers! 🕶🚢🍍🌞
