Thank you for starting this thread. I was also wondering. I’m outside my 30 day window and have the Platinum Protection Plan. Does it make a difference if I used FCC to pay the cruise fare? We have already identified a replacement cruise we would like to take later this year. Also, anyone have luck getting the Platinum Plan premium transferred to a future cruise if I used the Book with Confidence option?

I'm sailing on Princess though. Trying to avoid the $56 they are trying to charge haha

In doing some research, I noticed that the e-visa (https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn)
is not accepted at Phu My, the port Princess uses, and the Visa on Arrival services like in the link https://vietnamvisa.govt.vn/vietnam-visa/faqs/ are only accepted as airports. Princess seems to realize its customer's options are limited and that all roads lead back to the $56 fee.

When the spa attendant charged me a higher price than the price I booked on line for, I emailed princess customer customerrelations@princesscruises.com. They apologized and refunded me the difference. I also recall also getting a credit when the Medallion Cruise promotion fizzled out. Princess can be responsive to a bait and switch sometimes. You may want to give it a try to see

I will be purchasing a pass for the Enclave during an upcoming cruise on the Regal. Does anyone know if there are private showers in the Enclave or spa areas which I would be able to use? I have used the ones in the workout area. They are much bigger than the ones in the cabins, so I’m hoping something similar exists in the spa area as well.
There's 2 shower stalls in the spa locker room. Much bigger than the showers in the stateroom. The doors to the showers go right from the locker room and there is no little "transition" area that you may find in land spas. The Enclave is definitely worth the price. First thing I buy on board.

One restaurant was open and you can rent beach chairs. See my post #47 for picture of the restaurant and chairs.
I see it looks beautiful thank you

Lovely pics of the beach. At Friar’s Bay was the restaurant open and the beach chairs available for rent?

Definite hard sell. Much more uncomfortable than spas on land. Finish what was a relaxing couples massage. Then the two spa therapists come in like a time share tag team. Once they realized I wasn’t buying. Some how they separate us and cornered DH into buying $80 worth of products!

:D:D Wonderful. This is exactly what I needed Thank you
I totally agree that the other thread got wayyyy off topic! There where many many non-secrets there that I had to filter though. Here are some tips I found (BTW it took me 8 solid hours of reading 48 pages and 951 posts) These are the things that caught my eye and I made note of:....
I hoped this helped and I really hope this thread stays on topic instead of fighting with each other like the last one :)

We went to Blue Kay. It is further apart from the other beach clubs along the Mahahual. $5 pp which included a drink. Luxury it is not but suitable for a cheap beach day.

Thank you for the offer. Any reports on Maho Beach or Pinel Island?

Recommend checking in with the Casino manager. When we won a promo cruise, DH was offered free drinks based on his play. We were surprised that the drinks were not already free for just playing in the casino like in Vegas.
Join the roll call for your cruise date. The CC community was great for alerting us to last minute changes in embarkation.
The dining room, Alfredo’s and pool grills had the best food.
The Game show/TV studio and MUTS were fun.
The Princess crowd was definitely more laid back and older than Carnival. We are in our mid to late 40’s and felt like the young guns. Since R&R is a priority on vacation for us, we loved the peace and quiet of a more seasoned crowd.
Enjoy! It’s free.

Thanks mitsugirly . Your pics are beautiful. I decided to go with Almaplena.

Thank you for the advice. You were correct the fake phone number was a code used by the casino to track our reservation. Although some communications went out concerning delayed boarding that we did not receive, luckily the cruise critic roll call was able to give us aheads up. Thanks again and cruise well:)

Thank you for chiming in. I couldn't find anything recent on Maya Palms either. I was hoping for a relaxing beach day at a small AI with great snorkeling. Maya Palms seemed to fit that but I wasn't sure about the beach.

I'm torn between Maya Palms and Almaplena
Maya Palms looks like great snorkeling from the website but I haven't seen reviews from cruise excursion. TA seems to be from hotel guests. It also seems seems like I'll spend an hour in transit

Almaplena looks like a relaxing beach day and has plenty of positive reviews. Any thoughts on the snorkeling?

It was very easy catching a taxi at the port. I don't know about the regulation but it was a very orderly operation with port personnel directing the taxi. There are several other beach clubs along the way so outside of the port it does get more rural looking. We took our 2 teenagers, felt safe, and had a wonderful time. (but everyone's safety meter is different).

We received a cruise award from the Venetian after gambling. When booking with Princes, the Venetian's rep put in a fake phone number (122-111-2222) and DH's name as the travel agent. Since it seems like all communications go through the listed travel agent, I have contacted Princess Customer Service by email (customer relations@princess.com) and phone 1-800-774-6237. The email was never responded to. The Customer Rep took the correct information down about a week ago. The cruise personalizer still has the wrong information. This is my first time sailing on Princess. Not too impressed with the level of customer service so far. Is there another number or email address that more experienced Princess Cruise passengers have found to be useful in addressing problems?

Some suggestions: pack your swimsuit in your carry-on' date=' so you can swim the first day before your luggage arrives, when the pools are not very busy. Do not waste time going to Shopping Talks, as they are mainly about jewelry and only cover the stores that the ship has a deal with. If you don't like something in the dining room that you have ordered, ask for something else, and they'll replace it pronto. If you like a certain thing in the dining room, you can always ask for more (my mom had three lobster tails once). You can also customize the meal in the dining room a bit, like asking for mashed potatoes instead of baked, for instance. Pack clothes with pockets, so you can always have a place for your ship card and daily planner. Bring an over-the-door shoe holder to help organize your room (to keep sunscreen, sunglasses, camera, batteries, hair stuff, etc. You can ask for the mini bar fridge to be emptied to make room for your own bottled water, etc that you bring on board.[/quote']
I have seen many posts in getting mini fridge emptied. When, where, and how do I make the request? Steward only or can I email the request in beforehand? Thanks

I've known people whose checked luggage was lost or put on the wrong ship. All they received was some Carnival t-shirts. There are laundry facilities that can cut down on the number of clothes. I understand that you want the group to be Mobil and to cut down on idle time waiting for luggage . With a large group that will be a challenge

Thank you for the helpful ideas! much apprciated.

Does the Lotus Spa have its own thermal suite? I have read that spa guests cannot use the Enclave and it seems odd to have a huge spa area with no amenities.
-
I have read about the limited passes for the Enclave and Sanctuary. If both are sold out, what's your plan B or C for favorite spots on the Royal/Regal? Cabanas?
