Well; that didn’t end well… we had checked in our cases and we were sitting reading before going through security at BCN when some lowlife stole my handbag 👜 containing our Passports, boarding passes, my glasses, driving licence & credit cards - all gone 😭
Not allowed on flight back home.
DH caught the guy who did the distraction whilst his accomplice nicked my brand new Kate Spade bag, helped by some nearby lads who just happened to be Swiss Police on holiday!
Now the trauma of getting new passports etc so we can get home.
Stopped credit cards immediately but they have tried to use them already in the city centre so police know exactly where they are in the city.hopefully they can match up security cameras footage at the airport with street camera at the two venues where they tried to use them and identify them.
I think I’m more gutted about losing the new handbag and my Pinnacle passport holder
Takes about 48 hours to get a new emergency travel document so checked into hotel and had a very large glass of wine. Ok it was a bottle.

OMG How awful for you what a way to end a cruise hopefully they’ll catch the culprits.

Let me start by saying we've been on approximately 35 cruises. Most of them have been Azamara,NCL,Royal Caribbean, Celebrity with one MSC included. The food quality and selection on RCL borders on par with MSC which is pretty bad. The prime rib was fatty and as tough as shoe leather. The NY strip steak that the gentleman next to us looked like a door stop and he stated it was uneditable. There is no comparison to NCL whatsoever. We tried Chops hoping for a better steak experience but it was just a bit better. Definitely not with the 190 up charge. In the future it will be NCL,Azamara and Oceania only.Bye Bye RCL !
Thank you and good night.

Depart, just like it says. All aboard will be 30 min before departure time.
They are the departing times from port.

This is our first family vacation, ever. And we'd like to sit together as a family for dinner. We have the second seating. Are we able to request a table for four? If so, when and where do I make that request. Thank you.
Be sure to include the ships name and sail date in the subject line.
Also I suggest you put in your reservation numbers so they can be linked,
I usually email them two weeks before the date of sailing.

MHO.
I strongly recommend taking the ferry trip through RC.
I know that's much more expensive, but this is one occasion that the peace of mind is worth the difference.
We've been there several times, and sometimes the conditions of the sea change, the ferry companies cancel the return trip or change the hours.
If you can’t get back Royal can’t get back they use the same ferries/hydrofoils.

I’ve done this three times. Love Capri!Plan to get off maybe about 30 mins after the scheduled arrival time in port.
We usually bought the ferry time for around like 10am and then the return like around 3:30pm (depends on what time your ship leaves).
Make sure you look at the ferry schedules and choose a timeslot that is a fast ferry and not a slow one.
Must see and do things in Capri:
- Take bus or taxi up to Anacapri then take the chairlift up to the top of the mountain (even better views)
- Augustus Gardens (great views)
- Drinks/lunch in Capri- Take the Funicular back down to the port at the end of the day before catching the ferry back
This is great advice exactly what we do and never had a problem.
Its only about a two minute walk to the ferry/ hydrofoil terminal from where the cruise ship docks.
We always travel over to Capri under out own steam and usually the ship tours are also on the very same ferry/ hydrofoil.
When you dock in Capri and exit the port turn right go up the hill for about 50 metres and there’s a kiosk selling bus transportation tickets for a few euros to Anacapri or there’s plenty of Cuban style open top taxis that will transport you up there.

If you’ve never been it’s probably worth putting up with the transfers but totally agree that Honfleur is well worth a visit.

Not worth it to us.

We have found them to be excellent in both Chops and Jamies although we normally order steak in Chops Grille.

They were all over Anthem when sailing from Southampton last year.
-
Our experience is that all announcements are made first in English then in Spanish.
These are both daily tannoy and at shows etc.
-
We’ve been lucky enough to sail on Vision on three occasions always had a great cruise.
Having said that our preference is for the bigger ships in particular “ o “ class primarily for the extra entertainment.
-
Always had enjoyable cruises on both.
But prefer Allure mainly because of the entertainment.

Actually had no idea the Olympics were going on there when I booked it. Sigh...still have not visited Paris in our travels, except the airport. 😉
Drats...bad timing. Will see if they cancel it. Otherwise we still want to go, and being RCI tour...should make it back..at some point. 😮
If the tour goes ahead it’s an extremely long day but definitely worth doing.

Personally I’d try and get a small group together ( maybe via your roll call ) or maybe six to eight persons and book a private tour with Romeinlimo and pay the extra for a guide.
Superb reliable company.

We recently returned from a Caribbean carnival cruise and although we’ve cruised many more times with Royal think you’ve given an extremely fair assessment.
We’ve always thought the cruise lines were more similar than not and at present time we think that the food especially the on deck burgers and MDR on Carnival and in all most other venues is definitely better than what Royal is offering.
Entertainment is similar Carnival is probably that little better on most ships except on “ o “ class where Royal is probably better than what Carnival is offering.

If you have any self pride, you dress accordingly.
if you’re a slob, you dress accordingly.
Some dress in between.
It’s actually up to you. No one’s going to throw you out.
(But watch out for the side eye from the Pinnacle couple in the tuxedo and satin ball gown…). 😉
👍

I would definitely sail on Allure in preference to Anthem.

You’ll be fine arriving then we normally aim to be there also about that time. You certainly won’t be the first in line.
