Another question re the bottle of wine we are allowed to bring on board - are there fridges in the cabin to chill the wine as I'm thinking of bringing a bottle of champagne? We are sailing on the Maasdam - many thanks.
It depends on your room. But if it does not come with a fridge, you can rent one for your room for $2 a day.

Do HAL supply separate shampoo and conditioner? We are sailing on the Maasdam in a few days - thank-you.
Yes. Each shower has 3 dispensers; shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel filled to the rim. All Elemis brand. None of this "conditioning shampoo" some hotels use instead of providing real conditioner.

Each glass of wine will be added to your sail account at NC and yes they do keep track. The 15 limit is only for alcohol drinks, no limits on non alcohol drinks like water, specialty coffee and sodas. Can you really drink 15 glasses of wine per day?
You can buy the package on board, but it us more expensive. All packages (beverage, internet etc) are cheaper if you purchase online at least 4 days before your sail date.

From what I understand, Celebrity has an app that you can use to keep in touch with others on the ship without wifi. Does Holland (Oosterdam) have same?
Thanks
Yes they do. I believe it's called the navigator. You can download it to your devices now from the play store. But it won't start working until you're checked in to the ship.

Understand that...was just wondering why they did not do coffee cards for the specialty coffees as I am sure there would be interest from passengers to buy them. Ah well - we will just pay as we go 🙂
They have the non-alcohol drink package for about $20 p/day. Unlimited water, juice, soda, specialty coffee, and virgin drinks; like virgin pina coladas.

It depends on what you're into. I've done the Escape and the Veendam. The pros with the Escape is that there was always something to do. The cons for me is that it was way too big. It was hard to get a seat at many of the bars. There was a lot of walking since it is such a large ship. Tendering, boarding, disembarking, and finding your luggage was a zoo. It had more of a party atmosphere with lots of kids. It was also very hard to meet people. Many reunions and large groups. I prefer a more relaxing and laid back cruise. But that's just me.

I've got a couple of questions for our Oosterdam cruise March 2nd:
- I am addicted to fun creamers in my coffee. Do they have the sugar and chemical enhanced creamers like french vanilla or hazelnut at the MDR and Lido buffet?
- If not, will they let me bring a bottle in my carry-on for our fridge?
- It looks like they did away with the internet cafe, but do have a computer teaching room for their Microsoft classes. Are those or other computers available for personal use?
- Does anyone know the difference in the 3 internet plans offered at $10, $15 or $20 p/day?

Is anyone able to answer this? Any past experience would be welcomed!

Not sure how helpful, but we were on a HAL cruise (Veendam) with propeller issues. We missed two ports of call as they tried to fix it. They flew a propeller/engineer specialist to Guatemala that we picked up; our 3rd port 1st stop. We were back to normal speed within 24 hours after that. So I would say HAL is going to go out of their way to have your ship at 100% asap. It costs them too much jn freebies and bad PR. We all got $50 credit per person per port missed, plus free booze parties on missed port days.
